Hi! Just shortly, as I have to go out: it sounds a very good idea, to meet in Berlin, in the earlier "Reichshauptstadt" at year's end! What should be considered as regards timing, that most discount airways do not allow or or full well in time with reservations for the period ca. Dec 20 - Jan 3/6 (?) - it should be checked. With such discount airways it might cost ca. 100 EUR from another large European city to fly there, while with normal flight fares it might cost the double or triple - still railways can stay as option, or car.
I would really love to visit the historical and other attractions of Berlin, plus it would be nice to make some cooking, social programs at home in the pre-Christmas time at (your) home. I would show some Hungarian power food specialties and I suppose Mimi would very soon join with some German ones!
So keep the discussion in the future on the issue, it is a cool initiation!

Well, we can ofc take another date (even before actual winter season).

As i said before, I suggested this time because its a) Winter (so not that close to the summer meeting) BUT I ofc have not a problem with meeting new people and old (already known ) people earlier than that. And aswell because its b) around a time when there is definitely a free day (1st of january) for everyone (+ i guess a lot of people take/have holiday around that time anyways).

If you want to take another date, suggest it and lets talk about it. Our home is always free, and once we have enough people willing to come on a certain date, we are fine with it.

Other dates I could think of are:

1. Any time until 13. October (because until then Lig and I have "holiday" and therefore time for a meeting + i guess some other students of u have aswell?)
2. Any international free day (however, i cant think of any)
3. Any weekend *duh* (however, weekend would mean only like 2 days long meeting, if at all cause arrival/departure)


Idk how many people could actually come to a meeting that is so soon (cause only some students are gonna have holiday then, and most of you guys work i fear).
International free days arent a possibility afaik, and im not sure if a weekend of meeting would be worth the rather long travel for some people.

Any suggestions/remarks/ideas?

In belgium students have holiday till 21ste September (for college/Uni students) and till 1ste of september for high school.
We have some vacations between than and chrismas will look it up and post later.

Btw my birthday is the 13the of october

Well then, I would say lets start deciding things.

First of all, because the other options (only a weekend or an international free day, or sometime in october already) are not really a possibility, I would say lets take the time around the 31st december aka. new years.

Im sorry for all the ones who already know they can not come at this time due to family things going on in december, but making a meeting only for a weekend etc (see above) would basically be a waste of time considering the travel some have to go through.

For those who are interested in coming and do not already know they can not come (e.g. cause of family), I would like to know what time you would prefer/could attend, aka. what is the earliest day you can come and the last day you can leave (last day would be the 3rd of january either way because we have to go to university then and cant provide shelter anymore :P)

Also, it would be good if we could already start getting some rough sketch of who travels from where with which people. Ik some have a car and a license, other have a license but no car, some (like me, lel) have neither. Even if you can come by car it might be better/cheaper/more fun to travel with other people who have the same route as you do. So I would like to know:

From where do you come (roughly, like country and maybe a bigger city near you):
How do you travel to the meeting (plane, car, train...bike? :P):
If you have a car, do you need a ride / can offer a ride:

Lastly, if there are other things you want to suggest or just tell us about, do it. Things you wanna do in Berlin? Questions you have about sleeping places, food, whatever? Go ahead
