Forum Is it possible to change the Shoutbox? (archived by NightFall)

Usually I was not paying attention to the discussions in the Shoutbox but I counted at least three incidents in the last two weeks plus some exaggerated spam and when even on Teamspeak people say to watch the Box because there is some huge sh*tstorm happening this is not the right thing.

But as I already said this is just my opinion and as a member I am looking for things that can be improved. Of course you can't always prevent a situation from happening. That's why there should be at least some consequences e.g. warnings.

That was all I had to argue with

In my previous clan we had a members only shoutbox, this kept the soutbox clean and "civallised".
But an open shoutbox has the positive point of guest being able to comunicate directly with members on the site as mentioned before.

A possible idea is to make to sepperate shoutboxes, one for guest&members and one for members only.
But I understand this is quite difficult and not the easiest and best way maybe.

An other thing I thought of is make the shoutbox only useable to guests who visit site like 1/month.
This rulesout spam of non et-related comments and trollers who just want to insult or troll instantly after ban.
But the negative point is that this also stop new guests to ask information/help or instantly report hackers or whatever.
Also don't know if this is possible.

I like the up/down voting system mentioned before. Like only members are able to vote.
I think this can also work small scale, I believe there are enough members only for long times of the day.
