Short server downtime (archived by Mimus)
#1
Hi guys,

I hope you're having some nice holidays!

However, I have to announce that all servers will be offline for about 10-30 minutes sometime tomorrow (probably before noon), as I will need to restart the machine hosting our servers to do some maintenance work.
I apologize for the inconvenience.

I'm quite busy, so unless it's a quick thing or really urgent I am unlikely to be able to answer PMs throughout the week, but I try to reach out to everyone who contacted me during the weekends. If it's urgent, you can also contact any of the supremes, they can do a lot of things or relay directly to me if necessary.

Please post here if you notice any problems that might have been caused by the restart.
I also modfied the omni-bots for ND (actually just copied the whole folder from HS), because there was some error with them on ND. So please tell me if there's anything strange about the bots (except for bot names, of course).

Thanks in advance and sorry for the inconvenience.

The downtime of the teamspeak server last night was also caused by the downtime you announced, or am I wrong?

It was indeed. I'm currently looking into why the TS server doesn't accept connections.
The process is started, and has been running for some time already, which is why TSViewer assumes the server is online.
However, for whatever reasons, it doesn't fully come online.

Hmm, weird.
Can't look into it myself at the moment, since I'm not home.
Please keep me updated, and I'll check whenever I'm home.

The problem appears to be network related, still haven't figured out exactly though.

Okay, atleast you know a little more where to search for the problem.
Hope it's fixed soon.

Connection refused in TSviewer means guests lvl doesn't sufficient rights to see if the server is online and who is there.
Here a copy of TS3 forum post.

The guest group (not guest server query group) should have the following keys set to true:
- ServerQuery: View Virtual Server Info
- ServerQuery: View List of existing Channels
- ServerQuery: View List of Clients online
- ServerQuery: View Channel Info
- ServerQuery: View List of Server Groups
- ServerQuery: View List of Channel Groups
- ServerQuery: View Client Info

Best is to also set into the template of guest group (5) as well. Then every time you create a new server, it will be set automatically.
Also set the ts3viewer ip to be allowed in the whitelist of teamspeak 3 server.

Reason: Ts3viewer do not connect with guest server query rights but with normal guest rights.

This is not a permission problem. The server currently doesn't show online on TSViewer because it's actually offline.

When started normally it does show online, but cannot be connected to with the TS3 client, which appears to be a server related network problem.
