As you might have noticed already, I just enabled this.

Also please post below if you would like the flags to be shown in more places.
I'm quite busy, so unless it's a quick thing or really urgent I am unlikely to be able to answer PMs throughout the week, but I try to reach out to everyone who contacted me during the weekends. If it's urgent, you can also contact any of the supremes, they can do a lot of things or relay directly to me if necessary.

So the flags are based on the location of the user when the post was created?

Happened to come by one of my old threads when I was still in Hong Kong. and the flag beside my name is that of Hong Kong.

It uses the post's ip to calculate the flag currently. It's possible to change it in forum settings to use only registration or last visit IP in posts too.

Also, just to make sure no reports like "my flag is invalid" are made - I can't do anything against that, since the MaxMind geolite database is used as ip->country conversion source. It's more accurate than on servers (newer), but not 100% accurate - that's only (almost) possible with their paid databases. It won't also detect IPv6 because MyBB 1.6 can't do it as well.
