General Question about "bad language" (archived by Chuck)

I have a question for the TWC admins: what words are considered offensive, which I can't use and which are allowed? Is "FU" acceptable?
Is "Fuck You" acceptable or not? One of the members with the high-level (Sein) uses (notorious) words like "Fuck You" in the game and no one will tell him anything (he does not mute himself ..), and when I told him to stop insult - he wrote it for the jokes. So i thought that "Fuck You" is acceptable when Recently, when I wrote "fuck you" on ther server - I was muted. Somebody explain me one thing: The rules are for all or only for those with a low level??

Rules are meant for all members, including the MSTs themselves. According to the rules, swearing is prohibited. The rules are definitely not just for those with low levels.

No swearing, insulting or name calling, be nice.

Seeing as you are from the PW server and so is Sein, I took that quote from PW's server rules. Sometimes, the use of swears can be jokes or fun, however all members must remember than not everyone takes it as a joke. And about you being muted, were you muted by an admin or by auto mute?

Yeah.. swears can be jokes when you play with old good friend, but not when you play with others...
I was muted by admin for a while...

And what did you expect by writing 'fuc kyou' to me after I had killed you in spawn in HS? Writing something like that as member to high admin isn't a smart move. Muted you immadiately mainly because you avoided automute, which is set up for a reason and you should know that.

So to answer your question - yes, rules are for everyone, just like punishments.

I was expecting the same thing when one of the high admins says to me "fuc kyou" - no response from others and no mute.
Rules ar not for everyone - i can't mute high admin who insults me, but admin can mute me when i insult him...

Imagine what would happen if low admin members could mute/kick/ban higher. A complete mess. Jaymod and our levelsystem are set up like that for a reason.

If you see admin higher than you insulting/abusing, rules state to call another higher admin or make screenshots and post them on forum. Not to use that fact for your own rulebreaking. You aren't allowed to rob someone's money just because anither guy had done so and didn't get caught.

I think it's bad comparision...exaggerated.
Besides, I wanted to see what happens when I tell it to someone else, i wanted to see how he reacts on that, normally i don't talk like that.
Maybe someone should warn high admins, that if anyone proves their bad behavior (screenshot) - then one level down.

Maybe it's exaggerated, but it fully shows the point - you aren't allowed to do anything bad disallowed by law/rules because someone else had done so.

You can send screens to server owner of the member you want to report or MST.

Send the screens to a supreme, a master supreme or SCT (because that's the purpose of SCTs) and they'll look into it.
It depends on the situation if something is considered an insult or not. Many people say "fu" to me in panzer, but I know they don't mean to insult.
If you do feel offended in any way however, take a screen and tell the other player that you feel offended. If the other player continues insulting then send the screens to (see above). If the other player apologises however, or at least realises you feel offended then no harm is done.
