Hi mimi Smile

Dad: My dad works as a 'working place'? chief. He works at a company where they package strange fruits, peppers and vegetables. (purple potatoes, orange broccoli, yellow carrots just think of a color which doesn't fit the fruit or vegetable and they sell it :P) He takes care the people do their work correctly etc.

Mom: She works at an telephone reparation centre as telephonist and receptionist. Most of the day she is busy with talking and helping (potential) customers.

GF: She works at a place where eldery people can't fully take care of themselves anymore. She helps them doing the household and also getting dressed etc. She is 19 and studying Psychology atm.

Me: I work at Hornbach. Es gibt immer was zu tun!! I work there as a shop assistant at the garden department, helping and advising customers.

Hope this will help. If you would like to know more just ask Smile

I once was there at this colour mixing thing, was really fun.

and your gf, why does she want to do this ob instead of, e.g. work as waitress.

Same with your parents Wink

and thanks for your help <3

Well, in the Netherlands Hornbach is opened until 9 pm. Which is just perfect since I have to go school in the morning and afternoons. So that was the main reason.

And my gf worked at a supermarket before and after extending her contract 3 times she got fired (Like most people there minium wage for 15 year old is lower than for an 18 year old so all the 'older' ones get fired. Except for the chiefs but they are 25+) Last year she did exams at middle school and she had to choose what to study. Her final paper was about Alzheimer and it intrested her a lot. Then she got the job there and atm she is studying psychology and she will probably specialize in something with eldery people. At least that is what she wants. And then she won't help the people with the household anymore but she will do other things. (Not sure what, we'll see in a couple of years.)

My dad has been a chief at several company's since he was 25. He has good organising skills which is needed when you are chief of something I suppose.

My mom worked at a Pub before she left there and started working at the telephone repair centre. She was looking for a job and she found this. So she did not specifically look for this. She started out as a mechanic first (I guess 95% of the mechanics are men) but after half a year she was asked to help the 'service' department and she has been doing that for a couple of years now.

So my mother rolled into it. My dad, wouldn't know havent seen him doing anything else (at other companies yes but all about the same job) and my gf because she got very interested because of the paper she had to make.

Anything else? Biggrin

Not sure how pointing out stereotypes relates to the actual topic of this post, but yes I would have to say since the beginning of time that still most teachers have been women and most truck drivers have been men.

I started out as a self employed carpenter. I performed all aspects of home building. I did that for over 25 years before becoming burnt out on it. So I decided to become a truck driver as I had liked to travel. I used up far less brain cells as well. Which is good considering I have precious few left.

Almost used the last ones when thinking about stereotypical schoolmarms.
