No-Download Trial member proposal

Dear high-admin team of TWC,

Some recent events with lower level members got me thinking about the level-system for low-level admins current in place. With low-level admins I mean the admin levels ranging from (4)/5 to 7.

To introduce this proposal I will first give you some examples of recent ‘incidents’. I am not doing this because I want to point fingers. The following cases only serve as examples for what made me write this post in the first place. It is and addition of multiple incidents that made me write this, not one of these incidents in particular.

Examples

Example 1: Street. This guy seemed nice in the small period before we recruited him, but as soon as he joined he was all irritated. Nothing in this clan was done well, according to him. As far as he was concerned, everything had to change according to his plans. When he found out we were not really going to do that, he clan-hopped without saying anything.

Example 2: Leedzor. Leedzor joined a little while ago, and once again, was a nice guy at first sight. But as soon as he was in the clan for lets say 2 weeks he started causing troubles with multiple members and even one high admin. After multiple accusations with valid proof, it was decided he should be kicked out. (NOTE: he was kicked out, but he had a conversation/PM with Mayhem where he apologized and got permission to rejoin.)

The next two ‘incidents’ took place a little bit longer ago. I will use some quotes from the HA-board about these cases.

Example 3: WFP.
Creak: “Further info: left by himself, also has no account after a week asking and doesnt speak english well. dunno who recuited this guy.. but when somebody doenst speak english well he can never be a member! doenst matter how great the player is in skills or on social level”

Example 4: Droper.
Sky: “First he told me he leaves, I ask him why, he tells he will join headshot, I told him not to leave but to post a transfer request on forum, he said ok he changed his mind and stay in ND, then for a whole map he kept saying he was only level 6 but he was active bla bla bla levebegging, so i just ignored him and after a while he said he wanted to leave, I asked if he was sure, answered yes so i setted him.”

What I’m trying to say with these examples is that it might be wise to implement a new rank. Namely the Trial-Member rank or Try-out rank. Whatever you like best.

Trial rank details

Now what is this trial rank exactly...? In fact this means that a new recruit when he joins gets level 4 (not registered user) like normal and when he registers at the forum he enters a new stage, the trial member stage. A new member will get the Trial level (level 5) for one or two weeks in which he can proof himself to be mature, loyal, helpful and active. After these two weeks the trial member will be evaluated.

In the case the trial member successfully completes this phase, he will be set to level 6 after 2 weeks and can call himself a full member of TWC..
However, if the trial member caused some trouble there can occur two scenarios.
Scenario one: The trial member caused some minor trouble or his overall behavior was not very mature, but also not really horrible. In these cases the trial-period will be extended, for as long as we seem fit.
Scenario two: The trial member caused a lot of troubles or his behavior was terrible with no signs of him/her intending to better it. In these cases the trial-period will end and the person will be removed from the TWC clan.

This will help us in monitoring our new recruits and it will be easier to teach them what a TWC member can and cannot do. Also it will be easier to remove troublemakers from the clan in an early stage.
Furthermore, members with the Trial rank will wear official TO-tags at the end of their name. This is done so that guests and other members know that this person is still in his trial stage and thus not yet a fully accepted TWC member and that all of his actions, good or bad, are not to be associated with TWC.
Lastly, when a trial member successfully completes his trial membership he will have a greater feeling of accomplishment in comparison with him only having to create an account. I hope this will result in people wearing their TWC tags with pride.

The details of the trial rank can be discussed if this proposal gets the approval of the board. But you can think of duration, number of available (abuseable) commands, tags, etc.

To summarize all the above in a small scheme: Level 4 will stay as it is. Level 5 will be: Trial member with special TO tags at the end and this level will have very few extra commands. Level 6 will be member and the rest of the current level system will remain unchanged.

Of course there will be enough pro’s and con’s for this proposal and I would like to hear them from you

Good Idea, and instead of just ND, we should take this to all TWC servers.

I would suggest a minimum of a week of trial period, then the server supreme may extend it or declare the player a full member. Regarding levels, I would say we give them all the levels as a full member, that way we can see how the player uses them. If we were to restrict the commands available, we wouldn't be able to decide if he will abuse or not.

I totally agree with this idea,

but it has to be at least a minimun trial of 2 weeks!
Maybe it is also good when the trial members doesnt know how long the trial should take.
When they will hear from us they could be ful member they are even more happy.

This sounds like great idea!
Only problem is if others agree it (Overall supremes will choose last decision and do bit work for this, if this idea passes)
and how hard it is to implement.
But otherwise this sounds like good idea.

It is still just a proposal. Details could be discussed if the ideas get approved. As for the implementation, supremes willing to participate in this idea can take care of the implementation in their own servers. It will take some of their time, but it's nothing really really complicated.

Anyways, more opinions please indeed.

Hi,
I came up with idead to add something new on ND, namely, to add A trial. I don't know it was earlier, but It would help to avoid kids, cheaters and abusers... ( which is many in ND atm -,- )
Trial of player, would last like 1 week. Then someone would decide, what to do with player.
Give him level 6 or something.

Have you mean members?
If yes, it sounds good. Your idea can really help us (us=AAT, higher). I think that if someone with higher level sees some abusers/kids can set him to lower level, make hard proofs and report it. Example:
Player A (level 7 or sth) abusing !splat command. In server recruiter (player B) is online, Player B can set abuser to special lvl to stop abusing by Player A. Later Player B should contact with AAT or higher member.

Cheaters should be banned always perm.

I mean that: Someone wanna join ND. He would be set to trial level ( 5 ) And puts some tags ( -TWC|name|TL- ) Then he would be setted 6 after one week trial. Recruiters or highers would decide to : 1. Promo to 6 ( Active, nice, etc. ) 2. Trial stays ( recruiter would say a reason why stay lvl ) 3. Kick: ( not active or abuser / insulter etc.)

So i meant something other ^^

Well its a good idea but with a little change. The trial level should be also for those who doesnt active on forum. I mean we have member who was last online when he registrated on forum and not even care about forumstuffs server news etc.

And imo it shouldnt be implement to all server only where supreme think its needed.
