Binoc Sniper Tutorial + Leaning
#1
In this tutorial we’re going to be talking about two methods of Sniping. Those are the most used methods on the server.

Method 1: Binoc Sniping aka quickscope.

Never heard of Binoc Shooting? The idea behind is to scout for enemy troopers, and when you spot one, you quickly switch to the primary weapon used in a Sniper match - the almighty k43.

In order to perform said action, you have to press and hold your bound key (B) to your Binoculars. When the enemy is spotted, you quickly switch to the rifle’s scope (right mouse button) and shoot away.

The trick with Binoc sniping is to move fast, usually in a pattern of left and right (A + D). Of course the enemy will probably spot you right away, but they will not be able to take a clean shot. It takes a lot of practice but it does make sniping a lot of Fun!

If you get good at this, there is a more advanced technique called Jump shooting. Basicaly its the same thing - Hold B then quickly change to right mouse and shoot. But this time you Double Jump (Jaymod) or simply jump once and perform the shot. You can even do a Side Jump shots, however those are really difficult because the timing has to be perfect. The only difference is the direction you’re jumping in. If you manage to perform basic jump shooting, you should be practising on side jumping as well. The timing has to be on point in order to successfully open up the scope and shoot the enemy. While you’re jumping straight up, you either press A or D to jump to the side. Doing this will definitely surprise the enemy.

Method 2 : Leaning Sniping Method

Leaning is basicaly hiding behind a box or a similar obstacle while crouching (holding C button).

Look through your scope (right mouse) while holding Q or E. This way you’re able to spot the enemy without them spotting you. Jaymod does not recognise the enemy peaking behind the box, this is by far the easiest and the safest method of sniping. However, most of the advanced Sniper players are not using this method, as it’s considered to be reserved for beginners

To successfully shoot your opponent you have to release the C button and take the shot. Make sure when standing your scope has to be aligned with the opponent’s head. Please note, when crouching and leaning your field of view is different.

Video’s Tutorial : In this video i explain the movements. I tried to slow it down so its easier to see whats happening.

Hey man,

This is a fine piece of work. I really hope that more people will look at this thread and they won't start shouting "CHEATER" after getting sniped by a bit more experienced player.

So we have two different methods. Yeah, but what about the third one, the mixture? My style is based on leaning + binoc (running/jumping)... Let me show you the magical movements:
- You should hide behind an object (crate, wall, truck etc.) which is bigger than the character and stay close to the edge of the object => you can spot your opponents easily with binoc, while you are leaning, but they can't see you...
- When the enemy is shooting, reloading or trying to find a target, you have to be fast and start binoc sniping => jump/run + scope and shoot.
- This method is even more surprising, when it comes to standard sniping on standard maps. But you have to be careful with the objects, because sooner or later the enemy will spot you. In this case you should try to find another object on the map and get there as soon as possible.

(The method works very well, when you have to play against Thrasher hehe...)

I dont see point in binocs, neither does Tuksi. Your crosshair accomplishes the same thing. All you do is aim crosshair at enemy, right click and left click at the same time = theres your quickscope with less steps lol. Its just how I do things, binocs works for others. Its all about your preference, my opinion doesn't matter here Normal

Besides im a jaymod / objective sniper, old habits from MW2 and CS:Source heheh. Dont really do the long distance afk thing that Sniper mod is designed for

Binoc has many benefits its easier to see the enemy and the same time move around different places or quickscope. You can’t zoom in and run at the same time with normal scope. And spotting the enemy with only crosshair then switch to scope takes more time. In my opinion binoc is way more usefull in serious battles
