Trickjump Tutorial ( Strafe aka Fullbeat )
#1
Fullbeat also knows as FB and Strafe is the most basic gamma trickjumping technique. You should learn fullbeat before any other styles.

Basics

When you do fullbeat press W + A When you are moving left with mouse and when you are moving right with mouse press W + D. You also must press sprint button (shift) , but you can also type /+sprint (/-sprint to disable) to get perm sprint. In our TWC Trickjump server you must syrenge your self adre ( weaponbank 7 ) . This is to keep your stamina on. I recomend you to set /pmove_fixed 1 , you will jump higher then.

Now some facts about FB ( If you dont understand them yet , you will after seeing the video in end )

>> Always move your mouse , even if its so little that you cant see. Mouse movement is giving you speed. It only wont give you speed when you move it wrong

>> Moving the mouse without pressing any buttons will NOT give you speed

>> Pressing the right buttons but not moving your mouse will NOT give you speed

>> If you stop moving your mouse while still holding right keys your speed wont decrease but neither increase , it will stay static

>> Pressing the opposite keys ( instead W -> S ) your speed will rapidly decrease

>> Only sideways mouse movements makes difference. Up and down movement has no effect.

>> Releasing all keys while jumping will decrease your speed

Now watch the video

Now a mouse movement explain from Trickjump.me

Quote:Mouse movement

Now I'll explain a bit about optimal mouse movements in fullbeat.
First a little clarification.
Switching: When you jump, and change keys from W+A to W+D and move your mouse to the right, or the other way around.
Optimally, the switch itself should be instant!

The angle of your switch INCREASES as you gain more speed. This is very important. If you do not increase the angle and keep jumping with a narrow angle, you will do good to begin with, but as you gain more speed, you will gain far less or no speed at all compared to what you would if you had increased the angle.
And vice versa, if you start jumping with a wide angle, you will gain far less than optimal speed, because at the start you usually have low speed, and then you need a narrow angle when you switch. To clarify:
A narrow angle will give you a good start, but as you gain more speed, the narrow angle wont keep the speed coming. In other words, you'll fail at non-easy jumps.
A wide angle will give you a start which at many jumps wont even get you to the second pillar.

So to clarify even more, you need to start with a NARROW angle, and gradually make it wider!
The two mistake examples from zerojumps_b1 shows this, take a look at it now if you haven't already!

The start

The start is best when you move like a question mark:

You gotta press only W until you reach to the turn left , when you start turning left press also A with W , as near as possible of the side , jump off by pressing space.

I also made one video where i do the start , it was kind of laggy so it didint come out best , but here it is :

So , now you just have to practice. I started practicing with 1337 jump and moved to the snake jump when i had passed 1337 like 10 times.

I personally jump now Halfbeat style mostly , if there are enough requeests i make tutorial for that one also , but remember , learn strafe first Biggrin

I wish you good luck @ improving your jumping skills

Greetings,
Manzz
