New MST

Heya, as you can see from the title this thread is about a very important matter.

Some of you might have noticed, others maybe have not, but fact is TWC was struggling with a low amount of MSTs for a bit. Moanraker and John were inactive, so the only active ones were me and Ligustah.
That does not mean things did not work well – we were all living the life of TWC as usual, and it was nice, there were no issues we could not deal with all together.
However, lately is has become the case that a few issues appeared that made us think about having another MST. It is a big decision and was not rushed, we thought about it for months until we made a decision.

Thing is, both Ligustah and I will be a little less active in the next time – he starts full time working with IT stuff rather than studies, and I also start my work at a confectionist and studies. That means Lig will have less time to deal with technical problems right away, and I work at night and sleep at day, so I can effectively only be around for talks and fight solving on the weekends. That means, while we still do and will continue to support TWC both financially and with our expertise, there will be a lot less time investments from our (Mimus & Ligustah) side, at least until the dust settles a bit on our jobs.

Moanraker has recently come back from inactivity, you might have seen him stroll around the forums and servers. But even with him back we would have too few active MSTs. That is why we chose to elect a new one.
For those of you who know Moanraker – he is a very technical guy, like Lig. He knows SO much about ….stuff? that I don’t know anything about. Mentioning the mapscripts and lots of config things and omni-bot etc.

What we still need though, together with Moans technical know-how, is an MST who is around on the servers, who talks a lot to people, is known to them, has an overview about what is going on in the clan, so that in case of fights and discussions and problems he can offer a helping hand to solve the issue with as few hurt people as possible. Someone who actively interacts on a daily basis with all the people, guests as well as members and up, on all our servers.

The one person which, in our eyes, is the best choice for that position and fulfills most of the desired requirements, is Sky.

I doubt there are a lot of you who do not know him. He has been in this clan for years and years and is always connected with people – be it Hydepark stuff, casual talks about school and birthdays, or creative stuff like his sigshop or new configs for ET.
But these are side infos. The main things he is connected with and which make him a good option for an MST are the many many other things he is involved with. New member application? Sky looks him up, gets to know him, replies. Problem with connecting to the servers, or other ET related stuff? Sky helps solving it. Discussions about server changes, or suggestions for other stuff? Sky joins the discussion. Ban complaint? Sky investigates.

And it is not only about that he involves himself with these topics, but also how. He gives new members a friendly hello to make them feel welcome in the clan. He helps solving the most ridiculous problems without giving the people the feeling they are stupid for not knowing.
And, most important for the job as MST, imo: He stays mature, effective and polite. He joins discussions but always sees both sides. He stays calm in fights, and does his best to end/solve complaint threads before they turn into a 7-page-fight. He has a way with words to make sure people stay as calm as possible, he has enough overview about the happenings in the clan and the relations between people to know how to touch a sensitive problem, and even with all these problems he already has seen and the countless issues he helped solving he still is around. He did not leave us behind, he did not stop working for the clan. No burn-out for Sky, instead he is still here helping as much as he can – mainly by throwing his social skills in the pot. And those are exactly what we need.
