So hey.
I am building new pc (finally). I am sitting here, browsing render tests (and gaming ones aswell) and it is always Intel that wins... Any ideas why? I mean like AMD has 8 cores and Intel has 4??
I am comparing AMD FX-9590 4.7GHZ (242€) and INTEL CORE i5 4690 3.5GHZ (244€). What do you think guys? Which one should I get? I will use my pc for render a lot and play some games aswell. Do you think, that I can get any CPU that is almost as good as any of those two for lower price?
P.S: can anyone explain the difference in preformance between amd and intel?

Intel is more of a multi tasking cpu but amd is more of a gaming cpu so if you want to do rendering i would honestly go with either a i7 or a i5 and overclock it with watercooling

Remember that AMD produces way more temperature than Intel does, so take that in consideration.
Also I currently have an i5 4590 which is really enough for me (I do some stuff with After Effects, and can play every game I have for now)
Keep in mind that the RAM is also important for rendering.

i would take intel just to avoid overheat problems, trust me you don't want those :/

if you buy a all in one watercooler for an amd cpu then it wont overheat even with the stock cpu heatsink it still one overheat but since you want to do multitasking then stay with intel and try to get 8 gb of ram. it will help with rendering prefer 16 but i dont know how much stuff runs where you live.

I would go for Intel, currently I have an AMD FX-8150 Liquid cooled, but my next one will be intel for sure.

I think you need to set a budget. AMD is best value for your buck when you go low budget. But the odds shift at i think €200 in the advantage of Intel. there mgiht be a bit more expensive but they cause a lot less problems.. I dont think you want to be obsessed by preformes but on quality and support.
I'd say, go for Intel
