The Minecraft server doesn't seem to be working for me, it continuously gives me this error:

Running Minecraft 1.8.8 (legit version) and I'm 100% sure my firewall and router aren't blocking my connections.

Any help would be appreciated Biggrin

Stop downloading porn and it should work.

OK lets talk more seriously. I found a possible solution online because actually loads of other people have had the same problem like you are having. A possible thing causing this error is that your IPv4 address has changed (for whatever reason it might be) and that when you forward your ports, you end up putting the old and incorrect IPv4 address in.

If you go to command prompt and type 'ipconfig' in it should come up with a list of addresses. One of them is the IPv4 address which will be listed in command prompt.

I covered my IP's etc. because I don't want a crazy mofo hacker DDOS attacking me for whatever reason. But when you use this command, all your IPs, addresses etc. come up in the area I have covered up.

Anyways, use this command to get your IPv4 address and change the forwarded port to the correct one and then you might be able to connect.

Like I said, This is a possibly the problem. Your IPv4 address might not of changed even a little bit and the problem is nothing to do with what I have posted above. No guarantees, its just a possible solution.

Here is the post i found about it: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/sup...comment=16

about that link, they might be more possible solutions inside that thread.

I checked the logs, but I can't find your IP address or name on there. How exactly are you connecting to the server? I suspect your client is not using the correct IP:Port for the server.

Can you try connecting to 2.server.twcclan.org on port 25565 ? If that doesn't work either, please add me on steam ( https://steamcommunity.com/id/ligustah ) if possible, so I can help you fix it when I get home later today.

I'm quite busy, so unless it's a quick thing or really urgent I am unlikely to be able to answer PMs throughout the week, but I try to reach out to everyone who contacted me during the weekends. If it's urgent, you can also contact any of the supremes, they can do a lot of things or relay directly to me if necessary.

Strangely enough connecting to 2.server.twcclan.org:25565 worked, I've tried connecting to the direct IP, and also teawc.org and none of 'em worked, except for this one then.

Thanks!

You might want to try flushing your DNS cache or generally check your DNS settings. The Minecraft client should run a SRV lookup ( _minecraft._tcp.teawc.org ), when you try to connect to teawc.org, so I'm assuming at some point you have a stale DNS cache (be it your computer, your router or your ISP) or something fiddling with DNS queries sent by your computer.

In case you care, you could try connecting to our Teamspeak server ( ts.twcclan.org ), because that one is using a SRV DNS record as well.

Edit:
Let me just add that we use DNS records like those so we can more easily change server IP addresses without people having to change their local settings. This means that at some point, even though unlikely, the server might not be available at 2.server.twcclan.org anymore, but use another IP.

Well, the teamspeak with that address always works fine for me, it's just only Minecraft that didn't work with the DNS address teawc.org.

Pinging and tracert worked just fine when trying on the teawc.org address, so I'm not really sure what's going on.

That is what I tried to explain. When you ping teawc.org your computer will do an A lookup, which will probably return the IP address 81.169.145.162. That is the address of the webserver behind teawc.org (which currently does merely send you to our forum), but Minecraft runs a different kind of lookup on the address, namely a SRV lookup, which should result in a different address (2.server.twcclan.org).

So when you ask Minecraft to connect to teawc.org, it will actually run a SRV query for _minecraft._tcp.teawc.org and only if that fails it will resort to resolving the address using an A query (like ping or tracert will do).

Example query: http://dns-record-viewer.online-domain-t...&types=ANY

That is why I was assuming that something is blocking the SRV request or returning invalid cached data for it. I don't quite know by heart, but I think the launcher shows the IP address that it resolves in the console. So you might want to check that one.
