Minecraft Spawn (archived by Mimus)

Hey guys,

now that we have the landclaiming done, its time to take a deeper look at our spawn.

How is it supposed to look? We will talk about it here and lateron poll about the final version.
Once we all agreed on a spawn, we can choose a time to meet in the server and then build it all together (person A the front, person B the garden...etc. all in one chosen style)


Suggestions i have heard of so far are:

1. Desert Temple
2. Futuristic/Modern Villa
3. Palace/Castle
4. Middle-aged big house
5. Townhall

We have chosen name for our village and it was Lut Gholein. That means "Heart of desert" so I think desert temple will be okay.

Better start collecting sandstone then. We should probably decide on what blocks we want to use aswell and how it should roughly look.

Since the town is in the desert,
its better to build with sands,sandstone,chiseled sandstones some coloured wools etc,

Dont forget about the TWC Icon, Thats what i am planning to build it on top of the town or somewhere else idk xD

Yeh this desert thing sounds nice We could also make the interior a bit...oriental. pillows instead of chairs, low tables, lots of carpets....ahwww i already see it *_* and those awesome windows with the bow on top ... great

how big? how many rooms? more like a townhall or a real temple with praying hall etc?

do you remember this sketch-thing you people used in shoutbox a lot? Maybe you can paint a sketch there to show us how u imagine the temple, and then post the link in here.

I was thinking of a TWC Castle where we can put many rooms in it and stuffs like Laboratory,Automatic Porkchop machine,Praying Hall with alot of books and xp increasing,Anvil and repairing shop etc but i guess its a bad idea to put it on desert so it would be better to make a building from one place to another including shops nether portal and other..

@mimus: at spawn, in the place where ur home is located and probably the town where u r living at,
The reason is that i need to check delivery chest, and build up something and decorate :P.
Umm is the /sethome
/spawn
/tpa
commands are set :3? cause i am waiting for these 3 important things in twc minecraft and it would be a great success for the server
Tpa is not that wanted but it surely does teleports to someone so i think /spawn and /sethome command will do.

P.S:Srry that i didnt chat with u on xfire cause u might be busy playing dota so i dont wanna disturb u :P

Sooo, i crawled a bit through the net and got some kind of a more manifested idea :P

look at this

Awesome, right? Ofc, i think its way too huge for us to build and would take away too much space - that just doesnt fit into our usual, "normal sized" style. But the pic gives some nice motivation. Roofs, windows and also the plateau in front with those beautiful floor pictures and the water.

I think such a palace is a good way to build, it suits that "deserty" style.
But if you want, we can ofc also do sth else. A pyramid is maybe a bit too...boring? :P But a sphinx might be a good alternative:



However, im still all in for the palace. Here i got some pictures where there are parts I really like:

In this picture its the one roof with those little, colourful additions, all entangled in the style. I think it looks awesome, so lively and happy and gives that touch of "more":


In this picture I like the general building, not the details. I think this might be an appropriate size for our temple/palace - not too big but just big enough^^



I also like how there are holes left in the towers of this pic, it makes the building look less heavy and one-sided:


Since its really hot in the desert I remember they usually have, like in this pic, those shutters in order to keep the sun out of their rooms, i like it, its a nice detail:


Another idea would be to go a bit for, cause we already mentioned it, Diablo. Look, this is the one palace in Diablo, and we could take some of the building parts as well as the detailed style like those striped walls etc.


And we should add some green -what about those palm trees?


And like we had those spiral details before in the roof and i loved them, i also love them on this tower here:

For whatever way we decide, i think theres a lot to build and also lots of things we can share like one does the water fountain, one the flooring, one the windows etc. etc. As soon as we have a plan, theres no need to worry about the building looking like a chaos in the end^^
