It's always interesting to see how prejudgements influence people's opinion.
He's a mature guy with some huge amount of humour, who apparently doesn't fit into the 'how-a-good-member-should-be(have)' pattern in your point of view. But he still gets my yes, if he proved himself for some days without troubles.

At the beginning I wouldn't agree to invite him because of his arrogancy, but it seems he changed since we had little discussion about respecting major rules. Give him more time to meet the phenomenon called "heavyweaponry spawnkilling" especially. I stay neutral now.
