Planning to get new computer
#1
Heya,

I've seen some of you knows much about computers and specifications of those.

Could you guys suggest me any new computer which could run other games than ET. (Yea, that is my situation right now. :P)

Price could be something around 400-900 euros.

Not a laptop.

Thanks.

E: Could be something around 1000euros

There are some things to know before make a possible config a pc, for example:

· you can recover something from your old pc ?

· only gaming , or also editing (if only gaming, intel is way more better than AMD and viceversa) ?

· Are you gonna make overclock(even in the future)?
making overclock includes to buy an unlocked cpu, unlocked motherboard and obviusly a cpu cooler.

· if yes, are you gonna make a light or heavy overclock?

· OS inclused in the config ?

· Are you gonna build it, or you make it build from someone else (usually many online pc sites offers pc build)?

· mouse , keyboard, mousepad, monitor inclused on price, or you use old ones, or you gonna buy them aside those price ranges?

· particular requests? (silent pc, windowed pc, preferred brands, particular pieces etc.. )

You have some site in mind where to buy things, or you gonna buy them from local stores? some mainstream and good site are for sure Amazon and alternate.

this questions are really usefull , so try to reply all of them Tongue

1. No

2. Both

3. What is that?

4. -

5. Yes

6. Some PC site could build it for me, I prefer more to that.

7. Could use a new monitor, but not necessary. I can maybe find something already equipped.

8. Not any particular requests. Just what is good.

9. Not thought of any site. What is good and reliable.

Well clysma , Im not a professional pc builder , but i have some experience.

First of all , if you want a desktop. Never buy a desktop. Built yours.

2 Months ago i went to a store in my city , and asked about a beast pc but a little bit economic that i can build here.

So he made a beast List with

Processor ; Intel i5 4670k

Motherboard : Msi z87-g45 Gaming motherboard

Graphic Card; ASUS NVIDIA GTX 760

RAM : Corsair 16GB DDR3 Ram

HDD : 1TB HDD with 120 GB SSD

Case: Thermaltake Chaser A31

Cooler ; Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

This pc was costs about 3000 TL To me. So its 1050 €.

He told me you can play BF4 On 80 Fps with maxed settings with that PC. So i did some research , its true.

Sadly i had to change my car , so i was cant afford it anymore. Next time this pc is mine :P

And about if u ask PC Accesories Like Mouse , keyboard , Im really experienced on these things. Here you go..

Mouse ; ZOWIE FK Or Razer Deathadder 2013. Nothing else.

Keyboard ; Razer Blackwidow. Nothing else.

Headset ; Steelseries Siberia V2 . Nothing else.

Mousepad ; Razer Goliathus Speed. Can be Steelseries QcK Series as well.

Note: These Specs and Pc gears are Cheap or Just "Normal" Priced Items. If u say i have 5000 € to use On PC , i can built a pc & gear of it at its best.

If i remember right you're from finland? Check multitronic.fi, i bought my pc from there. There's an option where you choose the parts and they build it, and there wont be that problem some parts doesnt fit eachother.
UnrealNames aka h3r0. Wolf ET since 2007. If you would like to know about my Wolf ET history.. uhh.. Been in over 15 diff clans, but most of the time I were in |FBI| back in the days. Also have played Wolf ET at "pro level", but retired it 4 years ago or something. Wink

My xfire is h3r0ic, feel free to add.

Main gaming genres are rts (for example Starcraft 2) and fps. (for example Wolf ET, CoD 4 and CS:GO) I also like playing survival games (ex. Infestation)
Watch out for Starcraft 2 streams @ twitch.tv/unrealnames

If got any questions about the game or me, feel free to ask ingame, xfire or pm here. Smile

These specs are indeed very nice for building your own pc!
Nice configuration Jeff! sounds great!

Hey dude, I see others can supply good tips, I want to give you just some short info about, how to locate a power CPU and GPU (graphics card).
Here is a comprehensive overview of available CPUs, where the index (points) indicate the performance. I would say I would only buy a CPU from the upper half of the High-End CPU List (left), rather from the upper third, so let's say performance from 9000 points or target 10-11.000...?
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/

Below you find the same for GPUs:
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/

I suppose, also high-end recommended.

What I still can say that a reliable Power Supply unit is needed with quite high power to supply all stuff in the motherboard. The Power Supply should have protection against electric network disorders to protect your expensive PC stuff!! So separate large housing and separate Power Supply, not the crap installed together.

And cooling: in the current hot climate I sucked with overheating when temperature was near or above 30 Celsius, so forget stock CPU cooling ventilator! (delivered with "boxed" CPUs). Look for a brutal large CPU cooling stuff with copper heat pipes and large ventilator (120 mm) and check the Fan Airflow performance, it should be above 70 CFM.

Also for the housing it is fine to have a brutal cooling: inflow ventilator on front side, outflow at rear side, plus a much larger ventilator on the housing side (opposite to motherboard stuff, pushing lots of air onto them).
Watch: a quite large housing will be needed for large coolers, a power CPU cooler can be "very" large (compared to other stuff in housing)! Also eligible connectors needed on the mother board to supply all coolers and other devices on it - the PC store might help you in locating the eligible ones.

As regards hard drive, I would buy one SSD drive for the OS, min 128 GB (much quicker PC startup) and one larger normal HDD (winchester), 1-2 TB storage.

It is worth to invest in quality stuff, as it will save you lots of troubles in future and it cares for smooth operation, high performance.

So much for now, I hope it helps. Smile

Jeff I think you forget to select PSU? Or I'm just blind Biggrin

He won't do overclock, so an unlocked cpu is useless. same for the Z chipset of mobo and now there is the 97 chipset.. even the cooler is not needed if you don't do overclock. i have stock cpu cooler ( of a i5 4670k ) and it doesn't get hot at all. let's not give fake info Tongue

i took the prices from alternate.de, and the final price doesn't includes shipping and building ( for build i guess they ask around 100 euros ).

Cpu: i7 4770 274€

Mobo: asrock h97 pro4 79.90€

Gpu: Msi gtx 770 2 gb 289.90€

Ram: Crucial ballistic 8 gb (4x2) 73.90€

PSU (power supply): XFX 550w 49.99 €

Case: Corsair Carbide 300R 61.90€

HD: Seagate barracude 1tb 48.99€

SSD: Samsung Evo 840 120 gb 64.90€

OS:Windows 7 Home premium 84.90€

Total: around 1030 euros. obviusly this doesnt include shipping and especially the build cost. if you need to stay inside the 1000 budget also with build and shipping cost, i can downgrade some stuffs. Plus this uild doesnt have an optic driver (dvd/cd reader) , couse usaually its not needed, but if u need one, add around 20 euros more .

PS: jeff, that is very similar to my pc, but you forgot psu and even Os Tongue
