Guys as you know I have done some tests in ND recently. I was searching for a way to solve the sk area problems. Only members know what those areas are. I thought its mean to splat guests who broke the rule without knowing it.
If a setting change could solve the problem I wanted to see. It sort of worked, but not in every case.
So as most of you can see, the server settings are back to normal. Just as I had promised if the test failed which it did.
I only wanted a better solution to an ongoing problem, but as it seems leaving it as it was is the best thing to do.
I apologize if these tests have upset anyone. Your server is back to normal. Or at least until we can figure out how to get it back in the server list :P

I think members have to warn guests first instead of splatting them immediately

Indeed, but some members like to use commands.

Yes sure, I'll warn someone who have 50k xp or more, because he don't know rules, eh?
Warn is for someone who's new in server or made tiny rule break.

That.
No need to warn someone with over 50k xp. They know the rules.

What you should do too is deal with argues in private message not in main chat,
or use !warn command with silent commands (/!warn)
That way you can't be trolled by guests also, they'll have to answer in PM, and if they answer in mainchat won't get any attention as they'll be talking to nobody.
Also this is prevent lower admins to try to correct higher admins at every thing they say (and mostly those low admins aren't even right...)
You can do it in PM it will spam the chat a bit less.

If the guy/girl is the guy/girl's brother or sister ? So you should warn all the guests first. then splat

Not sure if I'm allowed to post here but I'd like to share my opinion.
You have to threat every guest the same, even if they have over the 50k xp.
Why?
Well it is very simple, you have to show the new ND members how to handle with guests who are breaking the rules.
If you splat them immediately, you won't teach them the right way to handle in certain situations.

Yes, treat every guest the same.
And I can't stress this enough: Quote: Please, please, please... don't yell at guests. That makes them feel uncomfortable. Instead of "no wj!!!!" or "no heavy sk!!!!", explain to them what they did. Such as "[Player], please don't walljump. Thanks" or "[Player], please don't heavy spawnkill. Thanks".
Also, don't use commands right away. It isn't necessary. Use !warn a few times, and if needed, use commands.
