Ducks, can you do some changes like:

1. Remove sniper rifle from weapons selections as I think it does not fit into frag profile involving close, precise fights with short range guns? Sniper rifle ruins this concepts with remote shots.

2. Reinstall some cool sound pack...? There were some in HS.

Heya Butch,

As for your first point, I'm actually curious where you're able to pull out a sniper and gain an advantage on the headshot server.
Personally I like to pull out a sniper once in a while to mess around a bit. (Always a negative k/d ratio because of it haha)
I don't really see it needing to be removed, but we can always poll it ofcourse.

As for your second point, we're currently testing out the server without any additional downloads (such as soundpacks) to see if it affects any new players that disconnect because of all the downloads.

A few of you told about it to me , and as a problem i notice it aswell when new visitors try to connect but they need to download a bunch of stuff ( intros , or skin pack files etc ) to play.

AS A TRYOUT i thought about having a 'Authenticity Week' which would focus on only the playing , i would clear up the FTP and remove all the files - and meanwhile we could test it out how would it work on attracting ppl.

Yeah its been a while without some extra downloadable stuff ( ive seen a new few visitors comin ) but i wonder what you guys think as obviously those things makes playing more fun in HS :P Tell us ur opinion !

Honestly don’t see a few extra soundpacks as a requirement for the server to be playable. I think the lower amount of downloads is favoured to attract new players, the people still playing ET in this year aren’t going to play it for a single soundpack or the graphics (lul), so they are quite certainly not going to spend a lot longer downloading extra files

True that, it's just the amount of downloads we had before was a bit overkill.

Imo we could just add a soundpack atleast, and keep additional downloads to a minimum.
