a debate? if only you people wanting to weaken the panzer had other arguments than "it's ruining my score & i can't have fun" that would be a start
no but seriously, i love to fight tommy and his panzer, (no sarcasm) because it's great practise on reaction-time, take it as a challenge, and when you win you'll very happy i can assure you, try to practise the fact of playing smart instead of only focussing on aim & kills, it's much more entertaining and less boring/repetitive

Im just saying most people wont give a single Bite Me if we disable panzer, they'll love it. We will only lose our common panzernubs like: tomoe nuestras and tommy. They are the most annoying and hated guys anyway so who cares?

you're going too far, i like these guys more than most medic players and i guess i'm not the only one
anyways what if we disable panzer? next people will whine about mines and rifle, what if we disable mines and rifle? people will whine about m97, and then about MG42, etc etc, and we'll have a dumb boring server with only smg's, no diversity, and i can guarantee you it'll be empty 24/7

Panzerfaust isn't the problem! It's the excessive charge rate. It would be good to reduce panza recharge rate! The given ammo and the damage are OK. It makes the panzer to its original state. It would help to balance the classes

And this, pretty much sum up my opinion. I get killed by a panzer about 5 times in one hour of playing, which is acceptable for me. In contrast, I usually get killed more often by mines because teammates step on them, but that's another debate I don't feel like fueling. Disabling is not an option in my opinion, we're one of the few highly populated servers with panzer still enabled, let's keep it that way.
We've had lengthy discussions about this last winter and I don't feel like restarting this panzer debate. Simply because it is pointless and causes annoyance from both sides. So I would rather propose some middle-way changes, rather than fighting each other.

Possibilities:
1. I already reduced the ammo at spawn a while ago from 4 to 2 I believe. I can change the max ammo from 4 to 2/3 if requested.

2. I could change the recharge time (currently we have g_soldierChargeTime "26000", default being "20000"). You can currently shoot two panzers after each other right? So I suppose that if I change the amount of ms from 26000 to 35000 or 40000, that it'll be no longer is possible to do so, making it easier to kill a panzer player 1on1 if he doesn't instakill you. Which should be the case if you're able to juke even the slightest and use some movement planning (see Sky's quote). You're a ''noob'' yourself if you are not smart enough to figure out enemy positioning before charging into a closed space, or when you're unable to juke a long-range panzershot. That's not changeable on the server side.

3. The only way I could possibly reduce the panzerdmg on jaymod is if the maker of enhancedmod continues his project, which he has abandoned a couple of months ago. (It was once stated as one of the changes in the next release)
I'm simply not adept enough at editing the original gamefiles. If someone is, sure, go ahead and give me the altered files.

For the rambo-medic haters as a counter-measure: I could change the g_medicSelfHealDelay from 0 to 50/100 milliseconds, so they can't get away as easily when heavily damaged. Not sure whether this cvar is bug-free though.
