I understand you Storch, that you all guys wanna improve ND, to get it better, better, and better... but. First idea, which I really like, and which would be cool. Possiblity of voting for a custom map. That would be cool, to play adlernest, supply or other map on ND. But - name No Download, need be No Download. Many newbie guests, just comes to our server, beacuse of the name - they just need download some random few - KBs things. Map is few MB. Then together with adding a map, we should change a name of server then.

About mine, and other, how You called - oldschool players. Yes, that's true, I really don't like changes, but you don't need call me and other few guys a narrow minded and stubborn...

Yes, change spawnkill areas and all the things about it, and see how fast we loosing a players.
Disoriented trusted guests, disoriented newbies - and we would fall out from great Gametracker position to dooooown.

I really like current the settings of the server. But sometimes when i feel like playing a different map I join an other server. every one is free to do so.
With that been said. The reason our server is one of the most crowed is that they like our settings the most out of all the choice there is.
So i wounder if we need to change settings. I have seen often when you tart to temper with settings members and are familiar with they start to leave ND and look for an other server.

How do you judge, which map is hard for someone or easy?
Once you think about obj, other time you think about frags...
Goldrush is hard for allies to steal and escort the gold, but it's really good for them to make frags. Really, really easy. Most axis die usually in spawn area, and sometimes they can't even leave that area. So it's hard map for allies or axis? Hard to say )

You are right but when speaking on map difficulty I always speak on objective. In the end of the day ET is an objective game not a frag deathmatch game (Unreal tournament for example)
So yeah, I speak of obj purely and play for objective, never for frags. This is also why I vote to remove double jumps. It's fun for dueling and hopping about but in terms of objective-tactics play it's silly. It ruins realism and gets abused in my opinion.

I may be stubborn, narrow mind , intolerant and all the shit you said storchel, but server is really active isn't it? so i guess it isn't that boring for guests?

In my opinion in no download servers more important is that you don't download any stupid sounds used in chat, any stupid skins, clothes and other super duper stupid things, downloading a map is max few minutes, you do it once and then can have fun on 1 more map forever. How many new players we have weekly? Not many, and even if they come - half ot them stays for longer, half disconnects and never comes back. So maybe we should focus on keeping ppl alive, keeping them on server and not bored.

And... have u ever thought that ppl stay here not because server is super, but because we have many players? And that circulates, we have a lot of old players so we have more new players, that's all. Many ppl complain every day, but they still play. Because they have friends here, they don't have anywhere to go (other servers lag or have more maps or ppl speak other languages, there are many reasons).

I'm the same opinions as Storch is. Server isn't bad, but might be better.

I think the issue here is simple: old players are getting bored of playing the same maps over and over and over again. This is not a new issue.
Yes, there are multiple tactics to win a game and it's fun to play with different ppl the same map etc etc

BUT
playing in ND honestly is not really "that" fun anymore.
I've been playing these map so much i know every single corner where i can put mines, i pre-aim at obvious spots and i remember mortar coordinates of almost maps

I thought that Beginners or Vietnam could work as an "alternative". But the fact is that it's very hard to find players who will regularly play on a small server, while ND have a very consistent num of players on average.
and, ofc, some of them play on the server because they like stock maps and such.

BUT
why don't we find a way to play other maps in ND too? Voting for maps is an idea. Or we could do some kind of event where we'll play some custom maps too.

I know that the name "No Download" brings people etc etc but it's getting very boring to play and i honestly don't know if i will keep playing on ND if nothing changes... the reason i play on ND (mostly) is friends in TWC But if we had a "TWC Blue" (for example) server instead of ND i would only play there.

I too share Storch's view. ET is an old game & playing the same maps over and over again doesnt help. Yes guests are important etc etc but shouldn't we, the members and the most active players (like Hinks, Longhorn etc) decide for the server?

I've wanted new maps for ND for quite a while now, spice up the game a bit, but since it's more oriented on the original map cycle, and the name "No Download", there is not much that can be done. But there was a period of time when ND was turned into Now Download, I don't remember if I was here back then or not, but I remember that there were other maps inlcuded to the cycle.

Server activity will play a big role in this subject and people will be using it to back their own opinions, so regarding Now Download, how did the activity change when it was implemented? Did we get more or less visitors? There must be others who remember it more clearly than I do, if you're one of them, please reply.

We could ask our guests in game what do they think about the current maps and what do they think about adding more maps. ("Question" votes and just asking them)
Maybe hold a puplic poll here to at least see what the members think

As someone who just started playing wolfenstein ET again, i'd love to see more maps added to the server, i'm still looking for a server to play on and I always seem to end up on ur server. There aren't a lot of good servers out there and being able to play a lot of diffrent maps is defenately a good thing.
