Development strategy for NoQuarter (archived by Fortin) - HamsteR! - 23-01-2018

Hello there!

I want to ask you about one thing. I analyzed how is server going and how changes affect in activity. A question appeared to me how do changes and I see now two ways; I named this gradual and jumping. This two strategy have some possitives and negatives so I want to ask every people who playing in TWC NQ server and also people who future of the server is not indifferent. What strategy you prefer? Below I will present the pros and cons of each of them:

Gradual Strategy:
+ every stuff is introduced immediately to the server,
+ players can see small changes and enjoy that every days something new appears,
+ stuff can be not perfect, so it is possible that I can fix it if necessary,
+ you need frequent download files, but files are small,
+ players will not waiting long for any changes,

Jumping Strategy:
+ every stuff is introduced to server only one a week,
+ players can see big changes every month or two but they can quick bored after few days and waiting to next update,
+ stuff will be more perfect so no frequent download but... one time in month or two players need download large pack with files,
+ players need longer wait for changes,

What you think, what options you prefer? I want to know your opinion about it. Please vote and write your opinion below Biggrin

Thanks,
Hammy

Out of these two I think gradual would be better. Biggrin

For me it's a really close call, I can live with both choices.

If I really have to show my preference, I would pick the jumping strategy.

I think frequent changes are very interesting for a server but some stability is also important.

Also, if the changes would take a little longer, people will look forward to the change and a certain change would maybe have more impact.

Feel free to correct me if anybody thinks otherwise. Normal

I feel like the Jumping Strategy would fit the NQ server better, since you'll be able to gather more feedback this way before making changes.
This means you'll be able to analyze all the dislikes/problems visitors encounter, and change/poll them accordingly.

But this is all based on how I see it, I could be wrong though.

As I see vote is almost even so I decide to combine this two strategy. What will it look like? For sure some stuff I add when it is complete so you can see less small changes and more bigger but not so often. For example; now I want to change uniforms for all classes not today changing for medic, tomorrow for covert, etc. Of course about every changes you can read here: https://board.twcclan.org/thread-7941.html

If you have still any suggestion feel free to write here Smile
