Problem with my laptop (archived by John) - Tomahawk - 14-03-2015
Well when i tried to boot my laptop, i logged in to my user and after it loaded all i got is a black screen.
no icons no taskbar nothing just my mouse, and i cant really do anything with it.
opened task manager and coudnt find the explorer.exe so i tried running it with task manager and it didnt open up at all.
i tried all kinds of things but nothing seems to be working
this happaned after an AVG update, i tried restoring windows to previous settings but it said that anti-virus is preveting it from happening
i have no idea what to do and could really use some help

Have u tried running in Safe Mode?
What Version of AVG u r using? Was it AVG 2012 when u updated?

tell me which OS U r using? Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit or 32 Bit?

didnt try in safe mode yet
this laptop is relativly new so i assume its AVG 2012, not really sure on this one
OS is windows 8.1 64 bit

I'd probably boot up the laptop in safe mode and try system restore from there. Maybe even uninstall your anti-virus software.

tried restoring in both normal and safe mode and it didnt work
well i spent like 3 hours trying solving it with no luck
im taking it tommorow to the place i bought it
