Here is my new tutorial - I will show you how install the best game ever. The mother of strategic games. The father of kingdom simulators. And I am ofc talking about THE SETTLERS 2 GOLD EDITION!
Let's do it!
1. Download files:
Settlers 2 Gold edition - LINK REMOVED
Some info: Sorry, site is in polish, but don't worry - game is english. Just click green button under download. ALL is safe! No viruses! I tested it on 2 computers, both are okay!
Dosbox - http://www.dosbox.com/download.php?main=1
This is a programme. Without this you can't start game, so don't even try editing something in settlers folder.
2. Installing:
First, we must make in C or D (your choice) folder. You can call it old_games. Then we must put downloaded settlers' folder in C.
Ok, now our aim is to play our game and we must use downloaded Dosbox. When we will open Dosbox, there will appear to black old consoles. One console with black screen and one with blue and black console. In second one, first what we must do is write our first command. Write this mount c c:\old_games.
Then we must write in console next command. dir SETTLE~1, then cd SETTLE~1, and the ending just s2. Now go and play some Settlers!
3. Some tips.
When you will enter all this commands and the game will start, unfortunately, game will be windowed. You can make it fullscreen, pressing alt+enter. When you will gonna play your first map, like unlimited play, remember to always press this buttons:
- V - when you're ingame, this will speed up a lil' bit your game
- S - this will show you how your buildings are called
- C - this will show you productivity of your building in %
