USB mouse keeps disconnecting. (archived by NightFall)
#1
So.
My Zalman ZM-M401r keeps disconnecting and reconnecting like every 20 seconds , sometimes it disconnects and i have to eject and re-eject the usb to make it work again.
It only happens on my computer. Tried it out on another and everything is fine.
I've tried :
1) Not allowing windows to turn it off to save power.
2) Tried to reinstall the basic windows mouse driver.
3) Tried another mouse on this computer. I tried a brand new mouse and it disconnected here as well. So it's clearly a windows fault.
4)Tried other usb ports/usb devices. Nothing else disconnects.

So i'm all out of ideas.
Im only using this mouse because the cable on my Logitech G9x broke.

EDIT: I wanted to delete the infcache.1 file because that fixed everything in windows 7. But there is no file in windows 10 for that Sad
Thanks.

I assume you are using WIN10? I've heard that some drivers are not WIN10 compatible.Just my wild guess

win10 drivers are installed on here. no zalman drivers are "equipped".

Mostly related to the cable. That or try a different USB port. Biggest chance is your cable tho, even when it doesnt do it on other pcs at first sight.

Have you tried feeding it?

Tested another pc. worked like a charm. It happens on every usb port only on this mouse ,anything else usb doesn't disconnect.

Do you have a second/backup mouse, and can you check if that one works fine?

If yes check the drivers of your mouse, if no it might be motherboard related

I have tried 4 mice , they all disconnect , i bought a brand new mouse it still had this problem , i even went as far to format and it still persists. I tried a different computer and it worked fine there , i guess i can try installing everything on a different MOBO. I'll do that tomorrow and see if the problem persists.

So changing MOBO changed nothing , tried a different cpu/gpu/ram as well (trying to limit out possibilities). I am quite sure this is a windows issue.

But ehh w/e i guess i'll just fix my logitech mouse. Easier probably anyways. Thx for answers!

Basically this mouse either hates windows , or windows hates the mouse. Idk one of those.
