Hi there,

As required by Trackbase to re-enable TSP I will have to update all servers sometime tonight. I will try to get the update through, when the servers are empty, or close to.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi there,

earlier today I enabled a Piwik tracking code on all pages of this forum, which will basically gather (anonymous) statistics about the users of this forum ( see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_analytics ).

I did this mainly because it was surprisingly easy to set up and because I love statistics. Furthermore it'll help me make certain decisions concerning the forum (or any other site that we might launch in future), such as which browser(s) to optimize for, or which countries most of our visitors come from.

The (anonymous) data is stored on a server I control, so no data will be leaked anywhere.

For people that are uncomfortable being included in any of this analysis:

• The system will respect DNT headers sent by your browser

• You can easily block it with your anti-tracking tool of choice (e.g. Ghostery)

• I will set up a separate Opt-Out page soon

Hi,

I'd like to do some upgrades and software changes on the server running this forum.
So it will most likely be down sometimes today and/or tomorrow.
Should any of the upgrades fail I might need to restore the server from one of the backups. The next backup job will run in about an hour, so any posts made after that might be lost during such a process.
So please make sure not to make super important posts, or save copies of those on your computer to be able to re-post them.

Thanks.

EDIT:

I will of course make another post when everything is done. If anyone is interested, I can also post some details on the changes made.
