Hello TWC members and Guests!
There are some guys interested in mapmaking, which is a very entertaining hobby. But playing a map without active bots can be really booooring. So you have to edit waypoints to make your map playable, when you are alone. Let me to show you the basic steps of waypointing:
First of all you need to get omnibot, because this is the only modification, which contains waypointing commands. I can show the steps of omnibot installation for Windows users only, because I don't have Linux related experience.
So let's see:
And now let's see the waypoint commands.
These videos show you the BASIC waypoint editing, which is more than enough for a simple fragmap. If you have prefabs and some serious stuff (like object) in your map, then check the other Omniwiki videos on youtube.
For further information and/or explanation feel free to post here your questions
Good luck and have fun!

First of all you need to get omnibot, because this is the only modification, which contains waypointing commands. I can show the steps of omnibot installation for Windows users only, because I don't have Linux related experience.
So let's see:
- Download Omnibot 0.82 from this site
- Open the zip file and extract the contents into your Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory folder (where you have etmain, et.exe and etded.exe)
- Open server.cfg file in etmain folder and scroll down to the end of the config. Copy and paste the following content:
save and close the config file.Code:omnibot_enable 1 // 0=> omnibot off bot difficulty 1 // 1=> easy // 6=> hard bot moveskill 1 // 1=> easy // 6=>hard bot balanceteams 1 // balanced teams
- Download the omnibot.cfg file (attachment below) and place it into your etmain folder.
- Select your et.exe and create a desktop shortcut. Right click on the shortcut, select properties and paste the following content in the traget field (behind "Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory" )
Code:+set fs_game omnibot +exec omnibot.cfg - Run the game and create a localhost. Expand console, type /bot press enter and you'll see a lot of green lines => these are the omnibot commands with explanations (don't forget to scroll up
)
And now let's see the waypoint commands.
- Load the map with /devmap <mapname> command.
- Firstly, you need to make the waypoints visible, so type /bot waypoint_view 1 in console.
- Select a team/class and stay in the spawn.
- Watch the videos below and follow the steps to create a waypoint system for bots
