Yup,

Since i patched the source code of etlegacy and compile it, i am able to use last version of etlegacy with whatever server i want.

The fact is, everybody don't want to mess up with compiling its own game.

I am currently exposing them on theyr forum why they should step back on this behaviour, and also thinking about how to implement it in a clever way and submit a better solution, instead of just breaking compatibility and acting as dictators (and btw, the solution they have implemented is utterly garbage and should be reverted as soon as possible)

Honestly I personally don't even understand why they are remaking ET in 2019 (yeah yeah I know it's an older project)

Like the Frozen song goes: LET IT GOOO. There are working clients for every respectable platform already, and the actual problems the game has will only be fixed when both (all) servers and (all) clients are running this new patched version. (Which will not happen)

Yeah, you know, it's like wheeler dealer, you take an old car, put it back as if it is out of the factory, and add disk brake instead of drum brakes, conform engine to unleaded fuel, make it compile to 64bits, also they have fixed some security holes which is not that bad
