But we also said we are busy currently

The idea was to turn it into event planning team rather than daily meetings, but we could go back to how it was to see if it would work out

The last Activity table there is reaches until the 15th of June, i assume that was the time PsA was shut down.

Coffee 06/01/2016 Wrote:Hi! any progress in filling our PsA-idea-jar? Are you guys onto something or shoud I consider PsA done? Sad

After half a month Coffee asked if anything was gonna happen, that's when you said there was gonna be something happening soon.

Poseidon 06/08/2016 Wrote:Maybe we all should meet on teamspeak and discuss the next steps there as soon as most of us have time. I will try to be there everyday at 8 pm

A week later Poseidon suggested we should maybe all get involved with the changes to PsA, that got happily denied with a "New form of PsA is already in the middle of creation, pls be patient".

imma Wrote:But we also said we are busy currently

As far as i'm concerned, the time of being busy should be over already?
At least i seem not to be able find anything about any other inactivity, than the one below which should of ended by far already.

Snacky 6/13/2016 Wrote:I promise as soon as I'm done with my finals (in a little more than a week) my focus switches back here to come up with something and get the wheels spinning! Until then, stay tuned Biggrin

That was about 2 months ago, and yet you've neither come to any of the PsA members to come up with something together or asked us what we think should be done to PsA, nor you have been transparent of your progress on the whole thing?

You've claimed it's gonna happen "very soon" 2 months ago, just as you did right now?

I'd honestly appreciate it if you could either tell us there is no plan at all and you don't know how to re-boot PsA* or maybe be more open about the "progress" you are making and tell us what you've come up with over the past 2 months since according to cross you've already been in the middle of creation 2 months ago.

Cross 06/08/2016 Wrote:Poseidon, new form of PsA is already in a middle of creation, be patient, pls. Biggrin

*That seems to be the case since after we waited 2 months for you to come up with something, you said you wanna "give the old schedule another try"

To me, that sounds kinda weak,

I only said we could give the old schedule another try because you guys mentioned

And YES we have been busy, not like we decided on it, we have been actively running Psa for over a year, without any breaks, I really think the fact that we were inactive shouldnt be such a problem. Its true that snacky said after his exams he would be back but now he has been working for 12 hours a day so he had no time at all, and neither have I, we are apologizing for not letting you know sooner.

Right now Im asking you would you rather have PsA turned into event planning team with all of us coming up with ideas and all, or would you give the old schedule thingy another try? We could all decide on this together and we could hear your opinions on this

The problem we are facing with PsA is, that it is not hard to get the server active for the hour we have the meeting there, but nearly impossible that we support the long term activity of servers at the other 6 days and 23 hours . In my opinion that has already been a problem with the schedule plan where it is one meeting per server per week and that problem will not vanish if we switch it up to the event thing. I mean, how does it help the long-term activity of a server if you make an event and there are, let's say, 20 people at that particular time, it is highly likely that it is a one-time peak and whenever any of the guests return another day / another time they will face an empty server again.

Probably the only way to get a server active is with people consistently playing on it for several hours a day over the course of a longer period of time. If that is the case, events can very well be supportive at that, because then the people that are discovering the server at the event might come back and meet with the people that consistently play there alot.

The BIG problem is though, that most servers do not have a base of people that consistently play for hours in a literally empty server long over a period of time that is long enough to do that. And when i say most servers, i mean all the servers that are not active as they are right now (Literally all TWC servers, except of ND and TJ.)

And yes, i know i did not mention a solution, but i think it first is necessary to get down to the problem in order to find a solution.
And if we look at the problem, events are even less likely to make a server active at a long-term scale than the schedule, so if i had to decide between both of those, i am for the schedule

Well, you're right. Most servers do not have any active playerbase and that is causing the PsA meetings to be empty with only us there. But if we motivate them enought maybe we can attract them for longer period of time?
I do not have any solution either, but when we restarted PsA back then it was quite active cause people were enjoying something different for a change, so maybe now more people will show up on our meetings after this break, as we have new members everywhere and all. It definitely wont harm to give meetings another try, as it's the only thing that might attract members and guests to play on it daily.
Event planning can be an extra thing, every once in a while for which ever server to organize event and maybe attract a few more people

As i said, it is not hard to get people onto the server when we have the meeting, but what about the other 6 days and 23 hours when there is no PsA meeting? Most people are simply not interested enough / bothered to be active consistently for several hours which makes the server activity fail in the end, cause it also is just one meeting a week on each server.

And even if we get the meetings active as you did earlier in PsA, did that make the server active as a whole or pretty much only during the PsA meeting?

Imo we should do scheduled meetings, but not one per server per week, rather select a few servers we might have the biggest success on and that we are backed up on by the members of that particular server, and get those servers with potential more frequent meetings to support their long-term activity.

I agree with speed. We dutchies say "voor wat hoort wat", or in order to get something you give sonething

Structural activity seems hard to get back. I don't see a future in visiting a different server every day. Has PsA tried to visit one server for a week? Or four days or w/e including the weekends? To give ppl the change to join not on one day but for a longer period.

Also, still think servers like sniper etc should show effort in order to get back on the schedule, whatever form the schedule is gonna get.

Y preference is to get back a schedule to at least to something weekly. I don't care what tbh, as long as it is worthy of being called Project Server Activity.

Shall we then pick the servers that are worth playing on? Should we exclude sniper from psa?

Should the schedule be few days in a row per server? Would it be too much of a delay for a server? I mean, let's say headshot gets 2-3 days, Mon-Wed, and then the rest of the servers get the same, the headshot would get meetings again in a week and a half or something, would it be too much of a space inbetween the meetings on the server?

I am fine with a server per day, but personally I wouldn't mind giving the schedule structure above a try either

That is the problem. The Gaps are too high considering the amount of server we have to support. So we have to decide between really helping a few servers or helping all of them as we did before, but probably not going to be able to reach long term activity for any of them.

If it's about what servers to select, we should first take a look at gametracker stats and check 1. How active is the server as it is. 2. Is there any chance the server gets active (due to mods, settings etc.) 3. How active are the members? Are we going to get backed up if we decide to do frequent meetings at that server?

Once we figured how many servers we want to support / which ones / how many are worth supporting aka could potentially be long term active, we could start setting a schedule, focussing on frequency.

I guess for now we could go with the usual schedule or something, considering even if we take out a server or two, the gap between each server's meeting would still be pretty big. Imo all servers aside from sniper have the potential to be active

Anyways, let's also wait for other's opinion on this, then we can come up with a solution
