Advanced editor: Programmers' Notepad
#1
Boyz, I recently disovered a fine text editor program, with the help of which you can do amendments in text/CFG etc. files in a cool, advanced way. Take it free from here:

I haven't done such in-depth comparisons, as I only used the standardt Windows Notepad for editing CFG files. I had problems with editing, as the whole text content was not split into block, it was just dumped into a continuous mass, where the individual variables were hard to find and review.

Still fine that we could provide two good solutions for members with different requirements here. Smile

Indeed notepad++ is better, i use it on school for building websites, but as moan said its capable of editing almost anything based on scripts.
A basic .cfg file can be edited by regular notepad just fine.
I've done many of them in regular notepad and never had any trouble that it became a mess like the standard etconfig.cfg

Maybe he uses an ET generated config? (writeconfig)

Indeed I never created a full, own CFG, only edited the ones made by ET. And those were not split into blocks and correct rows, at least not for standard Notepad that I used for editing within Total Commander.
But now I am an advanced editor. :P
