Hi lads.

I have a dilema. I come across alot of rule breakers. Normally they respond reasonable when I ask not to rule break like HW SK. But as you guess know there are also allot of players who just don't give a damm.
So how to handle them.. Normally i put them into spec and have another chat with them and see how thing go from there. I try to find out where he's from and use http://translate.google.com/ to overcome any language barrier to make my point.

It helps a lot when a player in in spec cause mostly when their playing they just do pay attention.

Unfortunately I dont have !spec as a command. I play a lot and most fellow admin have lvl 17. These also dont have the right cmds to warn putspec splat or kick.
I find this weird. Because you want admins to check upon rulebreakers and cheaters while you dont give them the commands that are needed for the job.
I understand you dont want admin horney members who are in a clan to show of with !admintest.
But I have heard you lads say "we want mature members"
We'll you have some. So i don't see any reason why not give them simple commands to do their job.
I ain't talking about ban even though when you trust a player he prob will not abuse such a cmd.

I feel frustrated when I try to do my job and they just ignore me. And like I've said I have seen many times that there aren't a lot of admins who can act around.

When you want to uphold the rules and guests notice you can't do shit about it, it sends a negative message imo. They'll just won't take him or her serious.

Btw when you give fairly new members admin you can see how they handle it. It shows if they know how to act. If not. Don't promote them or even demote.

As you can see, put-team/mute/splat etc... minor commands to keep rule breakers in check are being provided at an early level (2 promotions from joining required). So you just wait a bit more until they are implemented.

As per Google translate, I would advise refraining from that, as usually (from my experience) it causes more confusion than trying to solve the problem. For some cases, the person is able to understand English better than the translated version. I do agree that sometimes language can be hassle. Maybe we can display our new rules in multiple languages in our forum.

The thing with giving people commands and if they abuse, to take that away is of little to no use. If a person does abuse, then the damage is done already. I doubt a guest would return after being a victim of admin abuse.

Generally, for rule breakers, if you talk to them in a responsible manner, they will not repeat their offences. If you do happen to come across someone who continuously breaks rules, you can !finger the user and then notify a higher admin of his details, so that they can be on the lookout for that person. (I assume most low level users can !finger).

No atm there is no finger. Besides I hard to go to find online admins on xfire since xfire doenst work properly for ET on win8. And it take a lot more time as necessary.

I can easily say that in ND did more damage having members with "abusive" commands , you can be sure of that.
