<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color"><span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i"><div style="text-align: center;" class="mycode_align">In this thread, I am going to show you what exactly is a MapCycle and how to use it..</div></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color"><div style="text-align: center;" class="mycode_align">This tutorial is mostly related with the <span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b"><span style="color: #FFA500;" class="mycode_color">JAY</span><span style="color: #0000CD;" class="mycode_color">MOD</span></span> settings/configurations <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">ONLY</span>.</div></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #DCDCDC;" class="mycode_color">Here We Start</span> <span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">!</span><br />
*************<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">The Server mapcycle is either located on the etmain folder or the Mod[Jaymod,Nitmod,Etjump etc] folder through FTP itself, depending on what type of name is given for it but the "cycle" word should be given in it atleast (i.e campagincycle.cfg/stopwatchcycle.cfg/modcycle.cfg etc) most of these mapcycles are in .cfg format so its easier to edit &amp; use them..<br />
</span><br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">As for our headshot server, the mapcycle is located in the Jaymod folder in FTP with the name <span style="color: #DDA0DD;" class="mycode_color">modcycle.cfg</span> (I Dont know about the other servers but just telling my homeserver's one so ye)</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> <span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">What is a MapCycle</span> <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">?</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i"><span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">Its a config file that powers/controls the server's maplist in one order and executes one map after another when that one map ends..</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> <span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">How to use it</span> <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">?</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i"><span style="color: #87CEFA;" class="mycode_color">You need to open it and Edit/Add words that relates with the cvar commands and stuff, after all its a <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">.cfg</span> file so keep in mind..</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i"><span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">This is how a mapcycle looks like when u open it. for example ND's old mapcycle one :-</span></span><br />
<br />
set d1 "set g_gametype 2 ; <span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">map radar</span> ; set nextmap vstr d2"<br />
set d2 "set g_gametype 2 ; <span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">map battery</span> ; set nextmap vstr d3"<br />
set d3 "set g_gametype 2 ; <span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">map goldrush</span> ; set nextmap vstr d4"<br />
set d4 "set g_gametype 2 ; <span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">map railgun</span> ; set nextmap vstr d5"<br />
set d5 "set g_gametype 2 ; <span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">map fueldump</span> ; set nextmap vstr d6"<br />
set d6 "set g_gametype 2 ; <span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">map oasis</span> ; set nextmap vstr d1"<br />
vstr d1<br />
<br />
<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i"><span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">As you can see Map names are given according to their .bsp format map names, one thing you need to make sure is that dont add the "<span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">.bsp</span>" word beside it.. just add its map name. [Highlighted with <span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">yellow</span> colour]</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i"><span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">How are you going to know where the exact map name's bsp is located at?<br />
<br />
Easy, just open a [AnyMap].pk3 from your own wolfet etmain folder, you will find inside it a folder called "<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">maps</span>"<br />
<br />
(<span style="color: #87CEFA;" class="mycode_color">The following screenshot shows you that i am opening a Caen map file as an example</span>)<br />
<br />
<img src="http://i.imgur.com/2VgI2oQ.png" loading="lazy"  alt="[Image: 2VgI2oQ.png]" class="mycode_img" /><br />
<br />
<br />
Open "<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">maps</span>" folder and then you will find [exactmapname].bsp <br />
<br />
<img src="http://i.imgur.com/JAv3Nlw.png" loading="lazy"  alt="[Image: JAv3Nlw.png]" class="mycode_img" /><br />
<br />
It is located on every single maps.. so i have to tell you that..if u want to write a map name in a MapCycle, it should follow the name that refers the Map name containing the <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">.bsp</span> format located in the <span style="color: #FFA500;" class="mycode_color">maps</span> folder otherwise it will never work.</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> <span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">Understanding It</span> <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">:-</span><br />

<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i"><span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">This is how a mapcycle looks like when u open it. for example ND's old mapcycle one :-</span></span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i"><span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">How are you going to know where the exact map name's bsp is located at?<br />
<br />
Easy, just open a [AnyMap].pk3 from your own wolfet etmain folder, you will find inside it a folder called "<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">maps</span>"<br />
<br />
(<span style="color: #87CEFA;" class="mycode_color">The following screenshot shows you that i am opening a Caen map file as an example</span>)<br />
<br />
<img src="http://i.imgur.com/2VgI2oQ.png" loading="lazy"  alt="[Image: 2VgI2oQ.png]" class="mycode_img" /><br />
<br />
<br />
Open "<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">maps</span>" folder and then you will find [exactmapname].bsp <br />
<br />
<img src="http://i.imgur.com/JAv3Nlw.png" loading="lazy"  alt="[Image: JAv3Nlw.png]" class="mycode_img" /><br />
<br />

<span style="color: #DCDCDC;" class="mycode_color">Here We Start</span> <span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">!</span><br />
*************<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">First of all, most of the config files are located onto your FTP Server, so whenever you want to edit something that is related with the server settings like eg: changing the vote percentage or disabling double jump.. enabling thompson, adding password to the server or changing the server name etc. <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">YOU</span> need to login through your ftp and go through the config files and start editing each cvar(Console Variables/Commands) carefully inorder to make that particular function you want for your server to work</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">The main &amp; the most important config file for the server is <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">server.cfg</span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">1. </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;" class="mycode_u"><span style="color: #DCDCDC;" class="mycode_color">The server.cfg file or the config files <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">:-</span></span></span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color"><span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">server.cfg</span> is a config file that lies within the server's etmain folder which contains various of commands that activates the server's default/custom settings depending on what mod/style is it running, You can place commands or edit them to execute/change the server's specific options, When the server is launched, the first file will be executed is the <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">server.cfg</span><span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">.</span> <br />
<br />
cvar(commands) example:-<br />
<br />
/g_knifeonly 1 --&gt; activates knifewar<br />
/g_knifeonly 0 --&gt; Disables knifewar<br />
/g_knifeonly 0 //1 means enabling knife war ---&gt; "//" double slash is written so that it is kept as a reminder and neither its a command nor it is getting activated but only used for putting sentence or warning purposes..</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> <span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">What does it do </span><span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">?</span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">You need to edit/add words in it which refers/related with the cvars(commands) <br />
<br />
If you want to know how to add/edit or how to know how a cvar(command) works for each specific function, Click on the following mod name which is powered in your server to redirect you to a site containing full list of cvar(commands) &amp; full information of that particular mod</span><br />

<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> <span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">How do i execute the <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">server.cfg</span> / how to activate or get it working in my server </span><span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">?</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">To execute it or activate it onto your server, you need to go through your RCON Client and type the following in the bar : "<span style="font-style: italic;" class="mycode_i"><span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">exec server.cfg</span></span>"<br />
<img src="http://i.imgur.com/l6AGF9Y.png" loading="lazy"  alt="[Image: l6AGF9Y.png]" class="mycode_img" /><br />
after you've done that, your server is going to restart immediately and then reloads/activates the changes you've made inside the <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">server.cfg</span><br />
<br />
You can also do instant changes towards the server without editing the <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">server.cfg</span> by just entering a cvar in the rcon.<br />
<br />
Note that everytime you do changes towards a .cfg file for a server especially the <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">server.cfg</span>, dont forget to execute it through rcon so that it should restart the server to get things activated and if you do changes in the .cfg file and you dont execute it, server will not change and it will stay the same, If you made a change in the server.cfg and executed it through rcon and after the server got restarted but the change u wanted to happen didnt actually happened means that you've done a mistake placing/editing the cvar(code/command) in the file, Sometimes some major changes like changing server name or its server address MIGHT not take affect after executing the <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">server.cfg</span> through rcon.. you may need to restart(reboot) the server completely to get it working with the help of the server control panel..<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">Becarefull</span>.. try to avoid doing crappy changes before starting it, you dont want to crash your homeserver so dont corrupt anything within the config files unless you know what you are doing or just consult the MSTS or other supremes if you dont know how to do it..</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> <span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">How do i make my own <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">.cfg</span> file for a server </span><span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">?</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">Lets say you are planning an event for your server called "<span style="color: #FF69B4;" class="mycode_color">No Explosions Event</span>" and you want to disable all types of explosions like nades..molotove..riflegrenades..satchels etc, so for that you need to create a noexplosion.cfg file (Name it any type of name you want for the file) and then what you have to do next is placing cvar codes/commands in it for the specific functions/options to make changes inorder to get rid of explosive weapons.. for example adding this:-</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">//Weapon Enables &amp; Disables<br />
<br />
weapon_disable 4 // nade<br />
weapon_disable 9 // pinapple nade<br />
weapon_disable 30 // smoke bomb<br />
weapon_disable 22 // airstrike<br />
set team_maxLandMines "0" //landmines<br />
set team_maxGrenLaunchers  "0" // riflenades</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #87CEEB;" class="mycode_color">------------------------------------------</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">If you want to also add a display banner for this event then add these codes for example:-</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">//Banners<br />
set g_banner1       "^6Welcome to NO Explosions Event^1!"<br />
set server_motd3 "^e|      ^7Current Mod      ^e|"<br />
set server_motd4 "^e|     ^6NO EXPLOSIONS    ^e|"</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #87CEEB;" class="mycode_color">------------------------------------------</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">After you finish placing codes and stuff, make sure &amp; dont forget to place "<span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">exec</span> <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">modcycle.cfg</span>" at the end or "<span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">exec mapcycle.cfg</span>" it depends on what name is given to your mapcycle file which is located inside your Jaymod folder in the FTP so that your config file loads the settings you made along with the mapcycle itself..</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #87CEEB;" class="mycode_color">------------------------------------------</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">After you finished doing everything to create your own <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">noexplosions.cfg</span> file for an event, Place the noexplosions.cfg to your JAYMOD/NITMOD/ETjump etc folder, <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">NOT ETMAIN FOLDER</span> &amp; now start executing it through rcon by typing "<span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">exec noexplosions.cfg</span>" and there you go, you have nades or explosive weapons disabled in your server, If you want to reset the server settings to default, go back to rcon again and type "<span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">exec server.cfg</span>"<br />
<br />
Note that everytime you make your own config file for the server, just place it in your MOD folder.. dont place it in the etmain. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #87CEEB;" class="mycode_color">------------------------------------------</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">If you are interested to know alot more about customizing server settings and stuff, please click on one of the MODs that is suitable for your choice and there you will find full information about cvar/making mod.. settings etc..</span><br />

<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">1. </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;" class="mycode_u"><span style="color: #DCDCDC;" class="mycode_color">Understanding ModEnhConfig.xml <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">:-</span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">Now this file is located inside the Jaymod folder on the FTP, its a type of a config file with a <span style="color: #00BFFF;" class="mycode_color">.xml</span> format, But what is inside this file is more complicated than the <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">.cfg</span> file.<br />
If you dont know what <span style="color: #00BFFF;" class="mycode_color">.xml</span> format does and means.. Click <a href="http://www.w3schools.com/xml/xml_whatis.asp" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="mycode_url">Here</a><span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">.</span><br />
What is more special about this file is that it consist of enhancedmod config settings and it triggers the automatic promoting system when getting more XPs and also lets you to edit how many bullets you want for a class to have or what weapon will that particular class will have in his/her hands in the first place when he/she spawns and such type of other options that are given in this file.<br />
<br />
You can replace/edit/remove/add anything according to its instructions given but <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">ONE</span> thing you need to know is that this is way different than <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">.cfg</span> file and you have to be much carefull editing it.. plus its a more easier to do it if you get used to it<br />
<br />
Heres an example of my Pistol war event for HS, I used Modenhconfig.xml to remove all the weapons except pistols only. (You cannot completely remove weapons from <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">.cfg</span> by adding a cvar so thats why i used <span style="color: #00BFFF;" class="mycode_color">modenhconfig.xml</span> to remove them completely and changing their amount of bullets in the gun)<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FF4500;" class="mycode_color">Important Note</span>: Once you made the changes in this file, make a backup of your normal <span style="color: #00BFFF;" class="mycode_color">modenhconfig.xml</span> first and then replace it with the on you changed in the Jaymod folder itself, its impossible to execute a <span style="color: #00BFFF;" class="mycode_color">.xml</span> file through rcon so what you have to do is you need to completely reboot the server from the server control panel if you are going for changing stuff in <span style="color: #00BFFF;" class="mycode_color">.xml</span> file </span><br />
<br />

<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">The main &amp; the most important config file for the server is <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">server.cfg</span></span><br />

<br />
<br />
You can also do instant changes towards the server without editing the <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">server.cfg</span> by just entering a cvar in the rcon.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> <span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">How do i make my own <span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">.cfg</span> file for a server </span><span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">?</span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">//Weapon Enables &amp; Disables<br />

weapon_disable 4 // nade<br />
weapon_disable 9 // pinapple nade<br />

set team_maxLandMines "0" //landmines<br />
set team_maxGrenLaunchers  "0" // riflenades</span><br />

<span style="color: #87CEEB;" class="mycode_color">------------------------------------------</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFFFFF;" class="mycode_color">If you want to also add a display banner for this event then add these codes for example:-</span><br />

<span style="color: #98FB98;" class="mycode_color">//Banners<br />
set g_banner1       "^6Welcome to NO Explosions Event^1!"<br />

set server_motd4 "^e|     ^6NO EXPLOSIONS    ^e|"</span><br />

<span style="color: #87CEEB;" class="mycode_color">------------------------------------------</span><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #87CEEB;" class="mycode_color">------------------------------------------</span><br />
<br />
<br />
Note that everytime you make your own config file for the server, just place it in your MOD folder.. dont place it in the etmain. </span><br />

<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">1. </span><span style="text-decoration: underline;" class="mycode_u"><span style="color: #DCDCDC;" class="mycode_color">Understanding ModEnhConfig.xml <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">:-</span></span></span><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

*************<br />
<br />
After you got your supreme level and you have no idea what to do next.. well, just follow my words carefully.<br />
<br />
First of all, you should always remember that the leader spot in your level/rostor should never be empty, having a leader in a server is always important so that he/she should take your orders and spread it alongside members and high admins + keeping an eye on member's behaviour,status, promotions/demotions and the server itself, you should never lose cooperation with your server leader in order to make the server stable and active.<br />
<br />
2nd , you will be having the full control for the server and your homeserver Section in forums, take care of it.. <br />
<br />
3rd, remember ! whenever you intend or try to make changes within the server, you first need to cooperate and have a discussion about it along with your members,high admins and with others too, this will let them tell their opinions so that it should make it easy for you to know whether they like the changes or not,<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color"><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Always keep in MIND</span>, Never and ever give your access to anyone or else you will be the next person to get punished &amp; banned forever !</span><br />

<span style="color: #DCDCDC;" class="mycode_color">Coming To The Basic Points</span> <span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">!</span><br />

<br />
You Will Need To Have <span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b"><span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">3</span></span> Requirements :-<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">1.</span> FTP <a href="https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="mycode_url">(Download Link)</a><br />

<br />
<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> What is FTP <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">?</span><br />
<br />
 File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer computer files between a client and server on a computer network. FTP is built on a client-server model architecture and uses separate control and data connections between the client and the server.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> What does it do <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">?</span><br />
<br />
 Transfers Files into the server such as maps,mods,bot waypoints and configs, commands ETC. <br />
Simple Example: Inserting/Removing/Editing files like .pk3 or .cfg from the server .<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> How to use it <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">?</span><br />
<br />
 Well its easy to use, you just need to upload or remove or edit server cfgs and stuff in it, you will be having folders like jaymod(or nitmod depending on what mod your server runs),etmain,omnibot and pb etc, <br />
<br />
As for me i run jaymod server so i have the jaymod folder in my ftp.<br />
<br />

<br />
After you got your supreme level and you have no idea what to do next.. well, just follow my words carefully.<br />
<br />
<br />
2nd , you will be having the full control for the server and your homeserver Section in forums, take care of it.. <br />
<br />
3rd, remember ! whenever you intend or try to make changes within the server, you first need to cooperate and have a discussion about it along with your members,high admins and with others too, this will let them tell their opinions so that it should make it easy for you to know whether they like the changes or not,<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color"><span style="font-weight: bold;" class="mycode_b">Always keep in MIND</span>, Never and ever give your access to anyone or else you will be the next person to get punished &amp; banned forever !</span><br />

<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> What is FTP <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">?</span><br />
<br />
 File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer computer files between a client and server on a computer network. FTP is built on a client-server model architecture and uses separate control and data connections between the client and the server.<br />

<span style="color: #FFD700;" class="mycode_color">~</span> How to use it <span style="color: #FF0000;" class="mycode_color">?</span><br />

 Well its easy to use, you just need to upload or remove or edit server cfgs and stuff in it, you will be having folders like jaymod(or nitmod depending on what mod your server runs),etmain,omnibot and pb etc, <br />
<br />
As for me i run jaymod server so i have the jaymod folder in my ftp.<br />
