I do not use Illustrator at all, to be honest. As I'm not making professional pieces of works that need to be in vector. :P
And obviously, my notebook laptop just can't run Illustrator. I tried to work with it, but my laptop just overheats. Lol ^^
And yes, I use Photoshop CS5. For drawing, I use old (about 8 years old maybe
) Wacom CTE-440 tablet.
I'm about to go to college to study Informatics including Multimedia (video editing, designing, 3D programs etc).
About XP with 3D programs - No-no-no-no. I've failed so hard with those. I tried to give a chance to Blender, but unfortunately, I just can't handle it. 3D programs are advanced stuff, I'm probably too lazy or just give up too easily! 
If furniture design is considered as 3D, then yes, I use Google SketchUp to design the furniture.
