How to detect an humanized bot and a wallhack.

Hello people, so I noticed these days, people get banned in -TWC|Nodownload unfairly because they are more skilled than the average.

So I had the idea to make a tutorial about how to be SURE if someone uses an humanised or a wallhack.
It's one of my first tutorials so don't be too harsh in your critics please, but ofcourse i'ld apreciate any constructive critics.

Let's start now, firstly we will try to learn more about those "humanised" bots.

What are they exactly?
They are cheats like every other cheat, but really hard to spot, because they look like the aim of a skilled player, but you can always see the difference if you look carefully.

How to spot them?
A magic word: Patience. If you suspect somebody of using a humanised bot, you need to record him till you see the evident proof. Because that kind of bot always fail at some moments (for example: headshotting trough smoke). But watch out, you should be able to see the difference between a lucky shot and that kind of bot-fail. This is the easiest way.

What are the characteristics of those bots? (Those aren't always true)

• They are faster than a normal human aim.
  
• They often aim straight in the middle of the hitbox. (While alternating head/torso hitbox)
  
• They keep shooting at a target trough gas (Don't forget some people use cg_wolfparticles "0" to see trough smoke, but it doesn't work for the gas/smoke grenades)
  
• They headshot in impossible ways (like from a very high distance, where you can't see the enemy good)
  
• They often switch from a player to another (mostly the nearest player) without reason
  
• When low skilled player use them, you see the aim doesn't fit with the player's moves (For example old member Jaws case)
  
• It can be adjustable, most people pick higher values to have better accuracy.

The wallhack
We all know what wallhack is, you see the enemy trough the walls and it makes it really easy to kill people.
About the wallhack, I can suggest you one thing. Unless you have the best headset ever, never ban somebody you suspect unless it's obvious he uses it.
(you know, like following enemy trough walls and stuff like that).
When a player aims somewhere and 2 seconds later the enemy appears, it's not always a wallhack.

Skilled players know from where the enemy comes and know exactly where to aim to be at the head level, it's a fact, I do it too...

I would suggest you to never ban a suspect guy untill the hack is obvious. If you can't find any obvious action, then post your demo here on forum and people with the right stuff (headsets etc) will check the demo's carefully.
PS: Don't forget you should watch the demo's with r_shownormals "1" before banning, to look if the player notices other players trough the walls.


I hope it is clear for everybody now... Our ND server is pretty active and I don't want to loose any good players there cause of an unfair ban anymore.
