I see a grey screen when opening ET - Lanttu - 07-04-2019

https://prnt.sc/n8r11o this is all I see when opening up my ET, I had no problems with my previous laptop which was weaker than my current one. I can use the console and use commands like /quit /connect etc but I still have a grey screen and It doesnt seem to connect to any servers. I have tried to use commands like /r_fullscreen 0, /r_customheight, /r_customwidth aswell as downloading GLDirect and using /r_allowExtensions. I had this same issue with Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast multiplayer but downloading GLDirect and extracting the files into the main files fixed it.

I hope we can fix it. Try another direct x Version or so

RE: I see a grey screen when opening ET - AeGon - 09-04-2019

create a shortcut to ET.exe

change the target to:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Mapping - Enemy Territory\ET.exe” +r_mode -1 +r_customheight 1024 +r_customwidth 768 +vid_restart

Also, run ET.exe on winxp sp3 compatibility mode and as admin.

Did you try with

Code:
/r_primitives 2

Also I've seen this fixed with simply an ET reinstall. (Remember to backup etkey)

You said you tried with customwidth and stuff, so I'm guessing you mean you made sure it's set to your display's resolution and then did a vid_restart?

If nothing else works you could save a logfile and send it here, we could see if it has clues about the problem.
In your etconfig.cfg (in etmain\profilesprofilename\) and search for the string "logfile". If there is an entry like 'seta logfile "0"', then set that to 1. if there isn't, add this to the config:
Code:
seta logfile "1"
This should then create an etconsole.log in your etmain folder, paste that here. (Preferable inside [spoiler] and [quote] / [code] tags)
