Dear members of this community,
I am writing today with great sadness to announce that Irene has recently passed away. As some of you might have been aware, she was struck with a cancer diagnosis a while ago and had since fought hard to recover - unsuccessfully unfortunately.
For those who she cared about so much, as well as for those who didn't get the chance to meet her let me just give you a couple words on just how important this community of people was to her.
She approached me earlier this year seeking advice. At that time she was running the Trickjump server, but she knew that she would need to step down to focus on her recovery. She was extremely concerned with just stepping away from everyone and wanted to make sure that things were in order and that nobody would worry for her. She said it felt stupid, because - you know - "it's just a game". But this community, these people were her friends and even in her dire situation she did not want to let anybody down.
But even beyond what happened here, I think the fact that her mourning sister took the time to reach out, just goes to show that even her family knew about the magnitude of her involvement with the people around here.
We lost a great member - a friend. But she was also a sister, a daughter, an aunt. So please join me in expressing our deepest condolences to her sister and the rest of her family and friends.
Let me just finish this with something she once said to me. While the context was slightly different, I like to think it exemplifies the attitude of this young, strong woman:

It is so extremely sad to hear what has happened and while it may seem unimportant to many, the thing that world wide web nowadays is and what the word community holds within it and the bonds created through games, it is something you cannot describe with words so that it would justify the amount of emotion that is into it. May Irene rest in piece and condolences to her family and to those who sorrow for her. She was great member of our community and will always be remembered.

I have re read through the chats I had with her, it makes me crying...
This came so unexpected and toooo soon, such a young girl....
