Multiplayer Games (@TWC) (archived by NightFall) - Mimus - 15-06-2016

Heya,

lately there have been some things that kept me thinking, and after a discussion with Lig we decided to slowly try to get a glance into an issue that has been on our minds for years but never really worked out.

Let me give you a quick summary of what I want to talk about, why, and how we might achieve what Im mentioning.

We do quite on a daily basis get new members, or applications. Lots of those applications are from old time members who decided to come back. Quite a lot of THOSE (i mean, those ex-ex-members) do come back for some time and then leave again. The main reason they left the clan in the first place is usually that they were bored of ET and therefore quit the clan - the main reason to come back is most of the times that they miss the community we offer. And even though they have that social part back once they rejoin, the old issue remains - no interest in ET, at least not enough to reach the amount of ingame-time we call "active".

Apart from that there are some other, smaller happenings that count into our thinkings. We see, now more than usually, suggestions pop up for new things to try - hide and seek, new server, mod, etlegacy and so on, and so on.
Also, we did have some tries with new games - meaning 7dtd, team fortress 2 and minecraft mainly.
The problem with those was usually that it was either not advertised enough, too expensive because it had to be bought, or not interesting enough to keep people playing for a long time.

I guess most of you can see what my words are leading to. We (meaning, lig and me) would be interested in giving another game a new try. A multiplayer game, preferably for free, that a lot of twc members are interested in. Minecraft is a pretty good game, but we (and other clans like EA etc. aswell) struggle with keeping mc servers active. Creative ran a long time, but with low activity. Survival always get people hyped for a few weeks until they got a base and....then its over.

EA plays a lot of ark lately. I dont know how many of you know this game, its kind of a dino-survival-multiplayer. Unfortunately, it has to be bought and is quite expensive aswell. Apart from that though, it offers a lot of the things we are looking for: Multiplayer (so we can all group up), survival (ppl seem to like that thinking of minecraft), the option to PVP if wanted etc. Also guns and base-building and raiding and exploring and taming dinos...blabla. Added to that the ability to make sure the gaming experience is nice for everyone (because we can have an actual server where we can deal with settings and maps and cheaters etc.).
Still, Ark is a nono due to the high money-factor.

However, I think you can see what i mean. We are looking for a game that is free and keeps people playing together. Games like Lord of the Rings online and Wow and all those others are nice, and usually ftp, but in order to have real fun there you usually "want" to pay money (new regions, new bosses and that...).

I would be interested in the games you people are already playing (doesnt have to be all steamgames or whatever, just anything you play more or less on a regular basis, or want/would to). The games should be free, and multiplayer. Thats so far the only restrictions we have.
I will add a poll to this thread so you can all see which games are played by how many people. If i dont fail I will manage to add all those games you mention in the thread to the poll so you can vote for them.

We can ofc also try totally new games you only heard about but never tried but with those we never really know if they are any good at all, so i would prefer to give it a go with games you already love first Smile

Mimi

tl;dr Name free multiplayer games you like/play/want to play and eventually we will take one of them and make it a twc-game for all of us to play it together.

UPDATE: new poll
after the "free games only"-poll ended with only very few votes, we now decided to take in all games (steam and others, free and to buy etc.), and re-do the poll.

Btw Ark needs a high end computer to run smoothly....

- Dirty Bomb (modern ET kind-off)
- War Thunder (planes/tanks multiplayer)
- World of Tanks (tank wars)
- Heroes & Generals (planes/tanks/vehicles/fps multiplayer)

RE: Multiplayer Games (@TWC) - Narko - 15-06-2016

just buy cs:go and play competitive, cevo, esea or faceit...

RE: Multiplayer Games (@TWC) - imma - 15-06-2016

I already play World of Tanks plenty Biggrin (Tho per platoon there can only be 3 players not more, unless we go to team practice )
Played War Thunder too but not lately.

None of the mentionned games really attract me tbh :/ maybe cs:go but yeah it's really unaffordable lol Tongue (3€ on allkeyshop)
I'd love to see everyone playing osu! but yeah Tongue nobody likes that game so no chances ^^

RE: Multiplayer Games (@TWC) - Mimus - 15-06-2016

Oh well csgo is like 14 on steam, thats where i had my look initially. and even those 3€ might prevent some people. Sure its not much money, you prolly need more to buy yourself a cheap lunch in the city, but the "work" that might come with it (joining some website, getting payment info etc. done....) might be too much for some people, especially those who are not already in love with the game but would rather want to be with the community, and therefore take a look at what people play. Apart from that, underaged guys/girls might have a hard time buying it :P especially a game like csgo (doubt parents would be too happy to buy that for their kids)
