Objects in ET maps - Mimus - 20-03-2016 Heya, im struggling a bit with some idea i got lately that i wanted to try out this week. I would love to find a way to add objects (like e.g. a bush or a chest, small stuff) into ET maps. The objects dont need to be clipped or anything (im fine with walking through them), i just want them to be able to be seen by players ingame. Unfortunately I dont know anything about mapping and stuff, all i know is that some peeps of you know stuff :P and that, maybe? you can even solve that issue not with editing an existing map, but with mapscripts like we have the invisible wall on fueldump? If all fails i would be just as fine if someone could help me to stick some picture of a bush or a chest to a wall on a map - that would be enough to make me happy :P Mimi PS: Im atm even failing at the start, i dont even know how to open a map-file from my ET directory as a .map instead of...idk..bsp or sth? RE: Objects in ET maps - Dominator56 - 20-03-2016 Do you mean something like this ? ![]() If yes, then you have two choices to do it, either by decompiling the map, or adding it by script. I'll be glad to help you if you need.
RE: Objects in ET maps - Mimus - 20-03-2016 Oh yeah, it would be awesome if you could help me. What option would you prefer/suggest, decompiling or script? I heard decompiling is difficult/tends to lose stuff, while i also know moanraker does script things so naturally I would go into the script-direction, about which i unfortunately know as much as about the other things in mapping -> nothing xD RE: Objects in ET maps - yourdog - 21-03-2016 Are u trying to make a easter map with egg's ? RE: Objects in ET maps - Mimus - 21-03-2016 Nope, just interested in stuff since idk if u remember but i tried working with females models but it ddnt work due to the bonestructure n stuff, so now i go lower and wanted to try sth more easy, hoping adding a little object in a map is less difficult than making a whole map xD |
