Heya,
as you know TWC and EA recently work together pretty much, especially because planning the meeting etc.
Today on EA forums there was a quite surprising, but indeed pleasant suggestion posted: a shared TWC and EA Minecraft server.
Over the years, we on TWC tried several ways to make an own MC server.
We tried, Tekkit, FTB, even Vanilla. Mods and Extras and whatsoever.
Every time, we had lots and lots of fun for a few months and in the end it kinda got down again. We always asked why?
It seems we now got the answer, or a part of it. Other than in ET servers, we do not have had many guests due to the whitelisting etc. Also our own members, however absolutely dedicated and motivated, were just not enough to populate a server steadily, so in the end we had an empty server because no matter how enthusiastic a player is, nobody wants to play on an empty server long, espeically after the first house is built :P
With the collaboration between EA and TWC we might be able to start a bigger, more populated server. The MC fanbase at EA is quite huge, so we could finally have a stable MC server so play on.
Ofc it needs some discussing and tweaking as to how to recruit, adminsystem, forum sections and more. But dw, we are already using as much of our brains as possible to find out how to make is possible
The more important question for us is atm, if you are interested in sharing a MC server with EA.
If its the case, and you would like to have that, the next thing to talk about would be ofc the general server settings.
Do you rather want a smaller mod, or vanilla, so we can all get used to playing there and newbies arent overwhelmed by the pure hugeness of a bigger mod, or would you prefer sth more complicated yet complex and intense as FTB, Tekkit etc?

I think this is an great ideal :P
I play mine craft sometimes! Imo the bigger the better but not always a good ideal in most cases :P
Vanilla or Tekkit would work !

Thats absolutely the best idea for Bringing back Minecraft
!!!I just stopped playing minecraft this year because nowadays i am getting very short time :s,
and the 2nd problem that minecraft is facing right now is inactivity, i like to play Minecraft somuch in weekends but hopefully its no fun when i dont see other players/members in the mc server :/ .
probably i could say that its just a waste when leaving the server like that (My thought)
if we had made a setup events for minecraft like meeting,party etc at this date or day.. we could've bring the activity bak but however we r yet less amount of minecraft players i guess.
So i barely agree for inviting EA and that will be awesome
P.S: My opinion is Vanilla cuz its good and normal

I am very happy about this news, but know we will have to plan again all stuff like spawn and city.
Btw, what will happen with our prevoius MC server? Will it be removed?

Guess we would remove it and start a new one, since we can take the space of the current server -> no extra money needed. however, maybe lig can save the map or sth? i dunno. ill ask him in case u ppl want to have the map or sth

I'll get playing it aswell^^.
I always like going back to vanilla once in a while. With every game. So +1 for Vanilla from me.

Seems like a good way to start playing Minecraft again. =)
I think Vanilla could be nice for the server, so it's clear for everyone, but that's just my opinion. =P

I guess since u have that "worldedit" thingy which is available for admins, with that tool u can Edit the world easily.
U can clean up the town and change the positions of the Palace,castle etc :P?
