Hello,
for the possibility that some of the people did not get my PM:
Because so many people changed their mind and/or chose not to attend the meeting yesterday (deadline-day), we have to cancel the meeting.
There is no use in driving hours and hours to attend a meeting with so few people. In fact, the current amount of people who could actually come for the whole weeks is tends to zero, so its not even worth to be called a meeting then.
Im quite sad and also disappointed, ofc. Especially because of all those people who first were totally in for it and now changed their mind in the last second. However, ofc it happens that sth comes between you and the stuff you have planned, thats just life.
Still, I dont know what some of you guys think, but such a meeting is a hella work and it got crushed just one week before the start. Im sitting here with these 2 big tents and a cookplate and lots of more stuff....for nothing, kinda.
Ofc i will try my best to plan a meeting again, next year.
But one thing shall be clear: next years meeting organization will not be as indulgent. Im not your nanny, and im not willing to look for drives, pick.ups, buslines and all that stuff for you again. Also, i will not stress me and put a deadline just for you that makes me have to hurry.
I got promised last year by a lot of you, who already changed their mind back then, that i will not have to run after you again and again to get your decision. Still i had - even though i got told stuff like: "im gonna tell you in 2 days".
So for all of you who might be interested in coming next year:
It will be at more or less the same time like the last 2 years (end of july).
It will be in italy or NL.
The deadline will be at least a month before, so no last-second-deciding.
If I do not recieve your money at least 1 day after the deadline, you will not be planned in.
I will not find a way for you to get to the meeting. Find yourself a busline, a carpool or whatsoever. You are all smart enough to google or talk to people.
Lets see what the future brings,

Don't be too sad Mimus, I think you expected a bit too much. Of course it sounds great to meet people that you enjoy playing ET with and to spend some time with them in real life, but on the other hand it's kinda risky too. I mean, this is the internet, you can never know for sure what really is behind all these funny names. Everyone can easily pretend to be someone else. And then you even have to pay the trip to the meeting place, meeting people that you in fact don't even really know.
Your ways of persuading people are truly amazing and you certainly made lots of people agree to come even though they had huge doubts about it somewhere within. It's only natural that some get cold feet at the approaching meeting, realizing that they really do it and even pay real money for it. The distance in the internet is just too far, so you sometimes say things that you don't really mean. At least that's the impression I received in all my years within different clans, dealing with all kinds of different people.
Your enthusiam for the meeting was really sweet and nice, but it was to some extent also mixed with some naivity and too high expectations. Sorry if that sounds offending to you, that's not my intention, I only want to try to make you feel the other people's point of view.

Mimus needs all the cookies and hugs in the world, not the sandy cookies though, but like, the best and tastiest cookies in the universe. She has worked long and hard on these meetings, and granted, the first meeting didn't quite turn out the way we all hoped, we still had fun and we owe that all to Mimus. I wouldn't have met any of you guys and girls that I did meet that time and from the bottom of my heart I thank you for those awesome few days that we, the members that showed up, spent together. Although this meeting did get cancelled because some members decided to say no in the last minute which isn't cool but I'm not gonna say anything about them since I don't know them. I simply hope to see a happy and cheerful Mimus back soon. I know none of you like to see Mimus sad, although it is a rare occasion. I for one will try to be in the next meeting 100%. And I hope that in the mext meeting, if Mimus decides to plan one, a lot of you new guys who I don't know, will be there to say thank you to Mimus for all these awesome TWC memories and for the new ones that will come in the near future. Afterall, she is the TWC mom, and we only have one. So let's be thankful to her and hope that she stays as awesome as she has been.
