flickering screen when playing full screen (archived by Mimus) - Dutchrebel - 16-02-2014

Hey guys long time no see Tongue

I have a question i have recently downloaded ET for my laptop wich is a fairly new one but when i start up ET the screen starts flickering without stopping even when in game. it only stops when i put full screen off. also when i start up ET my screen changes to 800x600 and whatever i do it wont change into anything else. I've tried changing the compatibility a couple of times switching from windows 8 all the way back to '98.
does anybody know how to fix this problem? thanks in advance

for the resolution add this to your autoexec.cfg
r_mode "-1"
seta r_customwidth "1920"
seta r_customheight "1080"
seta r_displayrefresh "0"
(change those value to the resolution you want)

for the flickering we need to know what graphic card you got... you can try to play with v-sync on or off adding to your cfg
seta r_swapInterval "1"
(or 0)

Honestly i havn't got a single clue i'm not particularly good with computers.
i found a link though with some information on the the laptop don't know if it helps the cause

for these games keep V_sync off since if locks fps at 60, the flickering may cause of the resolution.
I made a cfg for you.
You can test it if its working if not you can contact me thru pm or xfire(username can be found on my profile)

Like teammate said place autoexec.cfg in your etmain folder mostly located here C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain

the full screen problem has been solved thanks to the autoexec.cfg though my screen still keeps flashing the whole time. I can't seem to find a solution to this I hope somebody here knows how to solve this in the mean time I'll keep googleing for a solution

You tried to lower or raise the refresh rate?
a faulty refresh rate may cause your screen to flicker
