Problem with CFG - YesMan - 24-03-2013 Hey, A few years ago I made my very easy binds. You know, letter I - hello, letter O - great shot, etc. Now, I have a desire to upgrade them and make something more interesting. I would like to try out the script to change nickname. One letter - two nicknames. e.g. From YesMan to YesMan2. I spent two days trying to do this, but with the negative effect. My folder in etmain looks like this: ![]() What should I do if I want to make a change name bind? I'm the type of person who tries to do everything himself, and only when he can't do that, he asks for advice to other. I tried all the ways... btw. I wanted to see configs of other players from TWC, I found them on forum, but they cannot be load in game. When I tried to do that, was the error: couldn't exec I wonder if you could help me with this? RE: Problem with CFG - YesMan - 26-03-2013 ---> up RE: Problem with CFG - Razor - 26-03-2013 Heya YesMan, For change your name you enter this to your CFG You change the name with the key J Code: set namechange vstr namechange_1
set namechange_1 "seta name YesMan;set namechange vstr namechange_2"
set namechange_2 "seta name YesMan2;set namechange vstr namechange_1"That will do that you changes your name with J to YesMan, pressing J again will change it to YesMan2, pressing J again changes it back to YesMan. I made a few Text Binds for you: Code: //Hi
bind - vstr Hi
set Hi vstr Hello_1
set Hello_1 "vsay hi "^7Hello! Nice to see you!"; set Hello_1 vstr Hello_2"
set Hello_2 "vsay hi "^7Heya, [n] is here"; set Hello_2 vstr Hello_1"
//Great Shot

set Bye vstr Bye_1
set Bye_1 "vsay Bye "^7See ya!"; set Bye vstr Bye_2"
set Bye_2 "vsay Bye "^7YesMan is out! Have Fun!"; set Bye vstr Bye_1"
//Cheer
bind \ vstr Cheer
set Cheer vstr Cheer_1
set Cheer_1 "vsay Cheer "^7Killed you [k]!"; set Cheer vstr Cheer_2"
set Cheer_2 "vsay Cheer "^7Owned you [k]!" ; set Cheer vstr Cheer_1"
//Thanks
bind o vstr Thanks
set Thanks vstr Thanks_1
set Thanks_1 "vsay "^7Thank you!"; set Thanks vstr Thanks_1"
set Thanks_2 "vsay "^7Thanks!"; set Thanks vstr Thanks_1"
//Sorry
bind [ vstr Sorry
set Sorry vstr Sorry_1
set Sorry_1 "vsay "^7Sorry!"; set Sorry vstr Sorry_2"

//Welcome
bind p vstr Welcome
set Welcome vstr Welcome_1
set Welcome_1 "vsay "^7You're Welcome!"; set Welcome vstr Welcome_2"
set Welcome_2 "vsay "^7No Problem!"; set Welcome vstr Welcome_1"Copy that in your Notepad and save it as autoexec.cfg! ~RaZoR RE: Problem with CFG - YesMan - 26-03-2013 I did it and when I keyed in /exec autoexec that wasn't difference. Still the same, old binds. (ofc without namechange). As if I didn't change anything. My autoexec: Code: //Nick
bind j vstr namechange
set namechange vstr namechange_1
set namechange_1 "seta name YesMan;set namechange vstr namechange_2"
set namechange_2 "seta name YesMan2;set namechange vstr namechange_1"
//Hi
bind - vstr Hi
set Hi vstr Hello_1
set Hello_1 "vsay hi "^7Hello! Nice to see you!"; set Hello_1 vstr Hello_2"
set Hello_2 "vsay hi "^7Heya, [n] is here"; set Hello_2 vstr Hello_1"
//Bye
bind i vstr Bye
set Bye vstr Bye_1
set Bye_1 "vsay Bye "^7See ya!"; set Bye vstr Bye_2"
set Bye_2 "vsay Bye "^7YesMan is out! Have Fun!"; set Bye vstr Bye_1"
//Cheer
bind \ vstr Cheer
set Cheer vstr Cheer_1
set Cheer_1 "vsay Cheer "^7Killed you [k]!"; set Cheer vstr Cheer_2"
set Cheer_2 "vsay Cheer "^7Owned you [k]!" ; set Cheer vstr Cheer_1"
//Thanks
bind o vstr Thanks
set Thanks vstr Thanks_1
set Thanks_1 "vsay "^7Thank you!"; set Thanks vstr Thanks_1"
set Thanks_2 "vsay "^7Thanks!"; set Thanks vstr Thanks_1"
//Sorry
bind [ vstr Sorry
set Sorry vstr Sorry_1
set Sorry_1 "vsay "^7Sorry!"; set Sorry vstr Sorry_2"
set Sorry_2 "vsay "^7I'm Sorry!"; set Sorry vstr Sorry_1"
//Oops
bind ] vstr Oops
set Oops vstr Oops_1
set Oops_1 "vsay "^7Opps...!"; set Oops vstr Oops_2"
set Oops_2 "vsay "^7Boob!"; set Oops vstr Oops_1"
//Welcome
bind p vstr Welcome
set Welcome vstr Welcome_1
set Welcome_1 "vsay "^7You're Welcome!"; set Welcome vstr Welcome_2"
set Welcome_2 "vsay "^7No Problem!"; set Welcome vstr Welcome_1"What am I doing wrong? RE: Problem with CFG - Razor - 26-03-2013 You have to delete the old autoexec or at least put it out of the Et Folder. Then you put this new Cfg into your Jaymod and(!) into the Etmain Folder. After that you try to exec Cfg with /exec autoexec in Game again. Then it should work, try out all the Binds, because for example in The Hello Bind I have made is the same text then in your old. ~RaZoR RE: Problem with CFG - YesMan - 27-03-2013 OHHH MY GOOOD! I'm stupid. Very stupid... Do you know what did I do? I have my folder with ET on two sections of master disc (didn't know that). And all the activities pursued in wrong folder what I need. That's why all ended in failure. So thanks for help. Everything is working now. RE: Problem with CFG - Razor - 27-03-2013 No Problem, if you need something, just ask ![]() And if you want to get know much more about Cfgs, like Settings, you should read John's Tutorials in the Tutorial Section. ~RaZoR RE: Problem with CFG - YesMan - 27-03-2013 I read it twice. But by my mistake that didn't work ![]() Once again thanks. |
