RE: Plagiarism - Mimus - 03-12-2012

as far as i know he was searching for some good cfgs today in server. he ddnt seem to be too experienced concerning this (just like me).

He finally said he will just try to find some cfgs cause he cant make them by himself. i dont think his intentions were bad. imo, he just found yours cause its cool - maybe the name is also in this cfg-thingie? that would explain the use of it.

correct me if im wrong Wink dont always think the worst

You posted your cfg in some thread, don't remember which, so when you made it public it isn't stealing. Don't post your cfg if you don't want anyone else to use it..

I don't care if someone is using my binds (That's Axel binds duh). I care if someone using my name or whole cfg without permission. You can see in CFG he was using my name...

RE: Plagiarism - Slash - 03-12-2012

Well if you did write "Please change the player name before use" to your post where you shared your cfg. It wouldnt happened. You talk about a 9 years old guy who came here to have fun maybe he didnt know how to do cfg, but find your's.
And im sure he not even realized that his name changed to your's.
I see no point to bother him for anything.

+1
You wrote "try this one" only instead.

So you can't blame anyone for using it.
If you gave someone a cookie and he ate it, you shouldn't complain about it.

Once you put something on the internet with that text next to it, everybody can legally make use of it.

No further consequences for both parties. (of course he cant play with your name :P)

RE: Plagiarism - MayheM - 04-12-2012

That's true, once you post something without usage regulations anyone is free to use it. How ever, we do have a problem with using kokok's name. Impersonation is against the rules. Someone should offer to help him fix that.

If it were just this little thing with leguta, then I would not be so quick to be upset either, but now there are other issues that seem to prove he isn't quite as honest or innocent as he claims.

I am hoping he has some reasonable explanations for them and we all can move on.
