Odd - FPS in TJ (archived by Mimus) - Dope - 21-11-2012 Hi, just a little question to all you jumpers here, it seems that setting fps to 333 and pmove_fixed 0 gives me much better start, but it seems much harder to build up speed like that. Is it possible to control jumping with those settings or should i just go with 125 fps and pmove 1? Thx. Grtz...................... RE: Odd - John - 21-11-2012 you have to set pmove 1 but fps should be just a stable one. 43 76 and 125 are the best to choose because they give a smoother gameplay. RE: Odd - Teleport - 21-11-2012 There is glitch called the FPS glitch.. wanted to tell you yesterday but was too lazy .Setting p_move to 0 and turning com_maxfps to 333 and then switching back to p_move 1 and com_maxfps 125, within a second gives you a speed boost. However, jumping an entire jump with p_move 0 is pointless and a waste of time. Most maps are not possible without p_move 1. This is because, p_move helps you jump a bit higher and further. At the start you might notice you're going faster/further, but you can do better with p_move 1. RE: Odd - FPS in TJ - Thrasher - 21-11-2012 well if you set fps to 999 then it shows fps 0... xD RE: Odd - FPS in TJ - Dope - 21-11-2012 When i set my fps above 333, even 334 , server gives an error to me till i set it back to max 333.Probably it's my settings because i have seen people set it above 333 and not mentioning any error, or they were very quiet people ![]() Grtz........................ RE: Odd - FPS in TJ - Teleport - 22-11-2012 What is the error you get? Can you get a ss? And why would you want to set your fps that high? ![]() 43,76,125 are the recommended values for Trickjumping ! RE: Odd - FPS in TJ - Dope - 22-11-2012 MAX_PACKET_USERCMDS That's the error i get when setting above 333 fps, and why set it so high? Cause i can , i have no framedrop anywhere on 333 so if i'm not mistaken the higher the value the smoother the gameplay and thus more chance of getting a good jump, correct me if i'm wrong ofc.Grtz.................. RE: Odd - FPS in TJ - John - 22-11-2012 Wrong, as long as your fps are stable you get good gameplay, but sometimes a low fps makes you jump better. 43 76 and 125 are 'tweaked' for jumping so better you use those :P RE: Odd - FPS in TJ - Dope - 22-11-2012 I was using 125 fps before, so i'll stick to that again , 43 and even 76 are a bit too choppy for me, thx for the info btwGrtz......................... |
