need help with GTKradiant 1.50... - Thrasher - 16-10-2012 hey guys. this thread is a question... because i got a bit curious over mapping and started using GTKradiant 1.50. i know the basics and things to fix bugs. i have made a panzerarena map yet it wont work. i fixed the "map leaked" problem but it still wont work :/ what do i do? EDIT: i print screened the console just before it shut down and got a lucky shot ![]() here it is:
RE: need help with GTKradiant 1.50... - John - 16-10-2012 What is not working? Did you set mapcoordsmaxs and mapcoordsmins? Did you but the bsp in the maps folder in your etmain? Did you place spawn entity's? Where are you stuck? RE: need help with GTKradiant 1.50... - Destroy666 - 16-10-2012 How are we supposed to help you if you didn't write what exactly doesn't work? RE: need help with GTKradiant 1.50... - Thrasher - 16-10-2012 idk what it is... it just wont run the map :/ RE: need help with GTKradiant 1.50... - Destroy666 - 16-10-2012 How can you not know what's wrong? If the map doesn't run as you said, there is usually error in console or window. Specify it or I'm gonna delete this thread because it's pointless to ask for help with only "it doesn't work" and 0 details. I could also say "my computer doesn't work" on tech forum, you think anyone would solve it? RE: need help with GTKradiant 1.50... - ZonElax - 16-10-2012 Open your map, File -> import --> players.map Also make sure your map is closed. Boxes from players.map must be closed, there can't be a way to have contact with grey color. Also try: Select any brush (shift + left mouse button) and click Plugins (on the right side of toolbar) -> SunPlug --> ETMapCoordinator ---> Get optimal mapcoords Build --> (single) META -bsp, File -> Save Open ET and type in the console: /g_gametype 2 /sv_pure 0 /devmap [your map name].bsp If nothing of this helped, contact me. RE: need help with GTKradiant 1.50... - ***m.*** - 24-10-2012 Ok it's a classic error ![]() The only thing that you have to do is to fix the map leaked. How to do that ? It's depend, if you have created your map by yourself it will be very easy to fix it but if you have taken a map and modified it from an other personn it will take maybe more time to fix it... If your map is leaked GTKRadant will appear a red line that show where the map is leaked. Follow it and find your problem. You have to know that, in GTKRadiant you have 2 differents type of brushes ; structural and details. The base of your map have to be in structural mode, for exemple if a brush is in detail mode instead of structural that will create a leak. A detail brush DO NOT HAVE TO BE DIRECTLY LINK TO THE "EXTERIOR" OF YOUR MAP. Generaly, if you don't want to lose your time to find which brush is detail or structural to fix it, you can make a big brush which can include all your current map and make it structural. And if you want to have the latest version of GTKRadiant, you can go there : http://icculus.org/gtkradiant/downloads.html and don't forget to go on google to search some helps on forum because there is certainly a guy who had the same problem like you. RE: need help with GTKradiant 1.50... - ***m.*** - 26-10-2012 Hum ok, try GTKRadiant 1.6.2. and if you want you can send me your .map file I will check what's wrong for you. |
