RE: -TWC|No Download Chatroom - Benji - 17-01-2014

Antho wrote the procedure if someone is disrespecting the rules :
1. Warn
2. Warn + splat
3. Warn + splat again
4. Kick

For me even if it's the first warn, if he killed someone while he disrespected the rules, i warn and directly splat because i think that's it's even that if he breaked the rules and killed someone, he die too.
I'd like too know if I can still do that or if i have to respect the procedure of Antho, i mean only first warn without splat even if the guys who breaked rules killed someone.
Obviously, if the guy disrespected the rules without killing some1, i don't splat him, only warn.

First of all this 4 step rule should concern new visitors only, such guys are not familiarized with the rules and therefore its possible they'll play against server rules. In such case each admin is obligated to enlight the newcomers.
BUT in case w are talking about guests who play on our server since much longer time - its obvious they do something on purpose and should be splat immediately and the kicked if it continues. There are still constant rulebreakers among visitors, few of them were even banned for a week, because gentle and multiple talks didn't help in any way... Some of them are just ignoramuses, some of them still cannot get the simplicity of the major rules. So...hands fall down sometimes right to the ground.

I fully agree with ocean. I'm not sure where we should draw the line between new guests and guest who are playing on the server for a long time. I guess thats different in every case and the admin can decide that when needed.

The procedures I wrote are just a guideline for people new to admin work. You are free to interpret them in your own way, but you should enforce rules in a for guests understandable fashion. Just keep that in mind Wink

Would be nice to enable vote for other maps (supply for example). Game is getting a little boring these days.

I think it is vote_allow_map the cmd or smth like that.

I know that the vote map option makes the servers vulnerable to server hack attacks. Therefor I wouldn't enable this!

+1
I can second that, happend alot with servers i hosted for YCN, which i 'rented' to others, and as soon as they disabled the vote map option, the hack attacks decreased incredibly, so therefor i'd wouldn't enable it either!

But you know it has been fixed in Jaymod around 2-3 years ago and even earlier in enhmod?

This is correct, also TWC servers were secured against this shortly before the easy tools to exploit them became widely popular.
