RE: Summer Meeting 2016 - Mimus - 01-06-2016 I told y'all there are quite some things to do and visit around the meeting spot. I did a small-radius search and marked some of the things i considered interesting. Ofc there is more, especially if you look further away from just that 1 town :P And even in that town there is more to explore (and shopping etc.) the link with the map + markers for those of you interested :P http://www.scribblemaps.com/maps/view/Meeting_2016/KLnhaOjupa PS: I found a DISCO :O RE: Summer Meeting 2016 - The Master - 01-06-2016 omg so manny to eat ![]() ![]() ![]() kfc mc donalds lama rest etc![]() nice.

However. there are actually several KFCs in the surrounding bigger cities - and guess what, plan is to have some further-out-activities anyways! The things i did show you so far (the disco, the 2 bars, the lake) are just things that are quite close to the meeting spot. There is waaaay more to explore a little further out. We got: - an animal park - a corn labyrinth (yes the things yknow from american movies :P) - another labyrinth (actually germanys biggest round one) - several museums - miniature golf - canoe tours - botanical garden - actual golf - zoo - climbing park (yknow the ones where you climb on trees and between trees and all) - a submarine bunker - the "universum" ( a huge science center) - water park - sea life - potts park (amusement park) - dinosaur park - planetarium - tropicana (huge swimming pool aka. water park) - magic park (very fairytale-y) - cave (yeah srsly a cave to visit )- museum about BACON - safari/africa park (ever heard the name "serengeti park?") - bird zoo - indoor kart driving - bowling - soccer hall - high wire trails - lasertag - HEIDEPARK (amusement park, and prolly my most favourite eveeeer) All these are more or less sorted by how far we have to drive to get there. Most driving time has the Heidepark i guess, with about 1 1/2 hours. However, its also the most awesome in this list, imo (https://www.heide-park.de/en.html?_ga=1.252169036.476070023.1465073508&cHash=5959ab9ba87a051f1436c2a5831cf03b)So yeah, people who want to come and will come and might drop by and also people who still need to be convinced...take a look at all these cool things, and maybe think about what you want to do/ go to already :P I am open (and tbh glad) to any suggestions and wishes, be it about food, sightseeing, actitvities or other stuff. 2 weeks are a lot of time to do stuff, so..lets find stuff
RE: Summer Meeting 2016 - The Master - 05-06-2016 my fav is the water park if it is a good 1:P and the kfc isnt that important i have it here aswell
RE: Summer Meeting 2016 - Paul - 05-06-2016 No carting, rip. RE: Summer Meeting 2016 - Mimus - 07-06-2016 Oh also, about the food: Last times we reduced foodplans to things that are rather easy to make on a camping spot (bbq, burgers, pizza, bread+stuff, noodles) and just a few times meals that require some more work (pancakes, french toast). Even though we will for sure incorporate these things again (hey, who doesnt like a good grilled steak, burgers and yummie pizza?), we will also be able to make some more complex meals (after all, we got an actual kitchen :P). Since it will be about 2 weeks of meal-planning that adds to (if we leave out lunch for snacks etc. and only go for breakfast and one warm meal) 24 meals. Some of them might just be put out for the above mentioned things, and some just be cut down to "bread and spread"-breakfasts etc., but we still got quite some occasions to cook cool stuff. As you all know, i freaking loooove cooking. I thought about, ofc only if you want to, have every few days one meal from another country/region. So in case there are some of you who can think of a special dish from your home to be served - lets try it! You will not be left alone ofc, I will help with the cooking as much as i can so i can remember those recipes for later ![]() Sure we will have to see if we can get all ingredients in germany, but im rather certain we will find a way. As for myself (since i will deal with the foodstuff quite a lot either way), i will go for 2 different regions/countries, maybe more. There is general german stuff i would love to have you try like potatoe salad, sauerkraut!, glühwein, spezi, pflaumenmus, mettbrötchen und brezeln. But also some regional things. My mom comes from "thüringen" (part of germany), and there are quite awesome cheesecakes and special steaks called "rostbrätel" which are soaked in beer and onions before being grilled. Furthermore, and thats the more complicated thing, my father comes from austria and they are faaaaamous for their heavy AND delicious cuisine. I'd love to try to make real austrian schnitzel and wurstknödel, maybe even käsespätzle, gulasch and sachertorte. My dad is good with all these recipes, but im not we will see if i can deal with them (in case we get all ingredients).Any thoughts on this matter?^^ |
