RE: New QMM plugin (work in progress) - Chuck - 25-05-2012 nah Lig uses some hightech words but its understandable it only cracks ur brain to work cause sometimes u need to think what he means with some words xD
RE: New QMM plugin (work in progress) - Chaos - 25-05-2012 An idea: Maybe it's easiler that if a player/member will be setted to level 5, that he automatically will be added as member in the database? Maybe that you said this too Ligustah, but my head was spinning around when I read that technically talk. Chaos. RE: New QMM plugin (work in progress) - Destroy666 - 25-05-2012 Wanted to propose the same but I thought and this wouldn't be so easy, as the new recruits would need to put their GUID here too. And how could the !setlevel know which account has the new recruit? Anyways there could be command !activate [accountname] to query the forum database and check if the account exists and if it does then set primary group Member and server profilefield to server where was it done. RE: New QMM plugin (work in progress) - Ligustah - 25-05-2012 I haven't quite thought about that. Querying the forum is a good idea, but I'm not quite sure if we should allow changing data in the forum. Also adding the GUID to the forum account will probably work by uploading the etkey file. It might work like this: People get level 4 and you tell them to make a forum account. When they first log in they will be asked to upload their etkey. When they connect to the server the next time the forum will register that it was the first connection with level 4 after the GUID was added (which means that the new recruit registered in the forum). It will then tell the server to set the player level 5 and change the usergroup. This would be some sort of handshake that seems reasonably fine to me. Another cool thing, I might add a command that, if authenticated, will allow players to update their colored name in forum from the server. I'll think about adding that later on. -- Ligustah RE: New QMM plugin (work in progress) - Destroy666 - 25-05-2012 Well, but there are two problems about this solution - not all new members know what etkey is and some may be too lazy to upload it. This would decrease new recruits amount I think, not much but still. And what if someone made account earlier? RE: New QMM plugin (work in progress) - Ligustah - 25-05-2012 I was not thinking about this as a compulsory thing. We might force this for levels higher than 13, maybe. But certainly not for new recruits. This is more of a feature, a goody, that will allow new recruits or members to get set up automatically. We might also have the system do automatic time based promotions up until a certain level this way. So it's more like a "you can use this to get some cool stuff". -- Ligustah EDIT: I already wrote some backend code: http://85.214.159.249/calc_guid.php When you upload your etkey file it will calculate the GUID based on your key (which is actually quite tricky). RE: New QMM plugin (work in progress) - Destroy666 - 25-05-2012 Ok, too bad, activating all forum accounts through servers would be very useful. Anyways good luck with the rest, hope you manage to finish the whole. Especially the promotions through website or global banning. RE: New QMM plugin (work in progress) - Ligustah - 25-05-2012 I just had some more thoughts about this and I think this might work: When people register show them an activation code, which they can use on the server like this: /forum_activate <code> The forum would check if they have level 4, and if so add them to the members group and set them level 5 on the server. That way people could activate their accounts themselves. -- Ligustah RE: New QMM plugin (work in progress) - Ligustah - 26-05-2012 Could some of you guys maybe go here: http://85.214.159.249/calc_guid.php , upload your etkey and check if it correctly calculates your GUID? That'd be nice. -- Ligustah RE: New QMM plugin (work in progress) - John - 26-05-2012 Worked for mine lig
