change in recruitment (archived by Tomahawk)
#1
Referring to previous ideas from Djuki i think that we should add the interview / chat with questions rather than test.

Imo in interview, recruiter in a more accurate way will be able to check what is knowledge recruit about sk areas, command usage etc(going forward, i wonder is not a good idea to do the same with candidates for recruiters, i mean especially about !ban command)

Questions should include:

1. Sk areas
- where they are
- capturable spawns
- which weapons are not allwed
- rating hevy weapons
2. how and when use commands
- !mute
- !splat
- !kick
3. what to do when you find cheater
4. difrences between tj and wj

It should take max 5-10 minutes in ts/skype/xfire.

Each recruit has 3 approaches - 1 per day.
Recruit can to choose person who will be questioned him.
90 percent of positive responses means you accepted

opinions/suggestions are welcome

edit: guys do you think that we should extend this for people who want to make a transfer to ND?

I think a written exam is a better option. I think its hard to explain the correct spawnkill area's on skype for example. Also the continuity is better guaranteed with a written exam. Last but not least the amount of time and effort it will take on the recruiters.

I agree with Djuki. I think a interview takes to much time.
In my oppinion we should handle these steps.

• first 2 week trial

In the 2 week trial the recruiters+ should have a chat with the recruit. Just to see if he is mature enough.

• pass trial = fill in an exam.

The recruit should pass the exam with a 80% or something. To be discussed.
Maybe they have 2 chances or something.

• no is not allowed to join.

Dont have to explain this I guess.

An exam also has to be viewed and "corrected". Meaning more work for HA, just like with an interview.

Moreover comes the fact, that we are already looked at for doing applications. Dont get me wrong, I like the trial - but now also an exam? Dnt you think it gives some kind of weird image for a gaming clan if we recruit people and are all like: Yes, you may join - but first fill in this, wait here, take this exam...?

I mean, its a fact every new member should know the rules, aight? In every application is the part: Have you read and understood our rules?
So if they fill it out, they indeed say they know them.

If they get recruited and pass the trial, why treat them with an extra exam? If there are long time guests who should know our rules, but break them, they get kicked. We do not make a test with them in order to find out if they know the rules, because we can assume they indeed do.
Same with recruits. They sign that they know them, so then if they break our rules, we have to assume they do it more or less on purpose, or they lied to us about knowing the rules.

Wouldnt it be a less work-intensive for us and more of a "sink-deep-into-memory" effect for them if they, after breaking our rules and maybe one warn per rule (im fine with giving them a little warn before, just like we usually do with longtime guests) just kick them out of the clan?

If they dont know our rules, dont remember them, or purposefully do not follow them, they get kicked. As easy as that, isnt it? "Goodbye, come back when you know our rules". Sure they can have the chance to apply again, and show us they know the rules this time.

However, im not completely against the idea of an interview. Just not for low level members. Its not needed for them, as they are supposed to follow the rules by signing that they read them. I would rather love to have that interview once it comes to the HA-promoting you mentioned. Wanting to give the lvl just to someone who deserves it means to find out if someone deserves it. And how could that better be achieved than by talking to him about admin duties. I myself would love to know of future admins how they would react in certain situations, if they know and how they plan to make people follow the sk rules, and more. Taking the time for an interview of a future HA, is worthy invested work i think.

I partly agree with Mimus, we really shouldn't make it too hard to join us. Such an 'exam' might already sound rather scary for some people. Though I still think a little interview before letting someone take on the TWC tags wouldn't be bad. I don't get how that is much work for Recruiters. 1 Recruiter has to meet the appliant ingame anyway, in order to set him to level 4. So, before setting him, just ask him 3-4 small questions to check if the appliant actually did read the rules. No big deal at all, doesn't even take 5 minutes if the appliant knows English.

And I also like the idea of checking the 'admin knowledge' of admins who are supposed to be promoted to level 8 or higher. Getting the ban !ban command means pretty much responsibility, so it's only positive to make sure that high admins know how to use it correctly.

Sadly there are a lot of examples that shows that show that people aren't totally aware of the rules. often people make mistakes on capturale spawns for example. from my profession I know that learning new material often gets forgotten (partially). When asking them to explain what they have just learned is a way better form of learning.

But if you guys think itll scare of new comers maybe we only do this with new players.

I guess the exam is just a way to know for sure if the new recruit actually did read the rules..
And after reading Mimus' last paragraph, I thought.. "yeah, maybe give the exam to only members who are going to be promoted to lvl 7 or 8, any higher lvl..."
In truth, lower lvl members don't have much to do with their commands, so maybe it is more useful to have the exam/interview only for higher lvls and not directly for newcomers?

well in my opninion it shouldn`t be implemented as a joining thing. But more for the member who wants to be a admin. Give them the exam and a trial of 2 weeks. So we can see who act`s/knows the rules.

I think the 2 weeks trial for recruites is fine. We just have to get our admins more dedicated.
